Sooooo. You're Town Manager 19:30 - Oct 14 with 1145 views | FrimleyBlue | You have no idea how KM used the team. You never reviewed any previous town set ups etc. All you've got is a squad list and you've got to choose a side for Saturday what would yours be? Just intrigued to see if there would be a mix in formations and differences in lineup choices I'd go 3 5 2 Walton Woolfenden O'shea Greaves Clarke H Morsy Phillips Taylor Davis Delap Hirst

Sooooo. You're Town Manager on 20:12 - Oct 14 with 993 views | WicklowBlue | That appears more like a 5-3-2 to me, plus some notable names left out and 2 similar strikers getting in each other's way. Using your scenario of previous teams etc It would be hard not to include all the big money signings unless certain players were ripping it up in the training sessions I've seen. I'd be tempted to bolster midfield maybe a 4-3-3: Muric Johnson Greaves OShea Davies Morsy Phillips Taylor (diamond Taylor linking between DM and AM) Hutchinson Delap Szmodics Subs: Burns for hutch, Hirst for Delap, Clarke for SS. However is Canjuste available and fit? As I have no allegiance or historical reference I'd look at Phillips and Canjuste as a 2 or could Canjuste link play with DM and AM. Equally I haven't a clue and any selection/tactics I play will end with me being sacked quicker than Hurst could say "but but Swansea".
Sooooo. You're Town Manager on 08:12 - Oct 15 with 740 views | thebooks | Think we need a more traditional approach. Two big handy strikers, two tricky wingers, two tough central midfielders. Woolfie comes in as he can hit a good long ball. Davis keeps his place for set pieces. O’Shea can cover Tuanzebe while he’s out injured. Muric O’Shea Woolfenden Greaves Davis Hutchinson Morsy Phillips Clarke Hirst Delap
Sooooo. You're Town Manager on 08:46 - Oct 15 with 656 views | Esseeja | Firstly, I presume without injuries? Secondly, knowing the traditional 4-4-2 is almost not a thing in the Prem nowadays because it's so easily found out most of the time, 2 strikers up front is an absolute no go. I'll give info with my selection as to why each time: MURIC I understand people are nervous about his decision making from the back, but I would like to attribute this area of concern with the simple argument that the entire defence organise, instruct, and direct each other on the best possible decision to make as fast as possible. If there isn't time, then it's better to make the long pass. Hladky would have made the same amount of errors as Muric has because the Premier League is, quite simply, more intense on the back foot, especially in posession (There were a few glimpses of quality passes from Muric against West Ham that troubled them at times, and other times troubled us. I do not single out Muric for those mistakes, I sometimes feel that it's a communication error between the team at crucial moments in games. Muric has already saved a good few goals from going in so far, so I'm honestly happy with him so far). This aside, he is an international starting goalkeeper for a European country, whereas Walton is not. He also has prior experience playing in the Premier League, and despite the often talked-about mistake he made against Brighton, his numbers were impressive, and he was seen as the obvious improvement to the team's results, this is not the kind of player you want to deny playing time to. If this momentum spike happens to us, it could be the difference between relegation and survival this season, and that could be an extraordinary contribution. Easy choice, to be honest. TUANZEBE A recognizable name because of where he was before he came to us, so of course I would start him. O'SHEA Simply because he has Premier League experience, and Woolfy does not. GREAVES Because of how highly rated he was at his previous club, even if Burgess was also highly rated and an international for a team that is a regular to the World Cup tournaments. Simply put, Greaves has previously been adjudged to have a higher ceiling, and was already playing at a very high level. DAVIS Obvious choice, because all I would hear about from my staff is his current trajectory and previous numbers. MORSY Because he's captain. I would not want to alienate my captain from the off in case his influence is really strong amongst my players. PHILLIPS Big name, previous England international, it's probably the biggest no-brainer pick out of the whole squad. OGBENE This was not a tough pick as one would think it would be. If my staff were to notify me of his speed compared to the Premier League average, then it's what I would probably consider an easy choice at the time, even if what I hear about Burns is good, and that he's an international. I'm sure Burns would be highly praised by the staff. It also helps that Ogbene just put in a season in the Premier League already. Later down the line, it would depend on what I would need if I actually knew what I wanted from this team, as the choice would be near impossible to make with tactical knowledge on its own. HUTCHINSON Coming from huge names in football, with a large amount of positive references from those huge names, and my staff (I should point out that I mean staff who stayed on rather than leave), then I would almost feel obligated to pick him, and try him in the center at first. J. CLARKE This all depends on who I've heard of more, who I've heard the best things about, if anything at all, and info that staff might be able to relay to me. This is the closest decision out of the full 11. DELAP Came from the current biggest name in football with high regards, so it's an easy choice. At least one of the names I would substitute so I can understand Hirst's game as well, in case there are any similarities or differences between the two players. [Post edited 15 Oct 2024 8:49]
