Just started listening to the frankly brilliant 'Rolling with the punches' 14:38 - Nov 22 with 663 viewsgainsboroughblue

Just heard a segment on the Bolton play-off game in 2000 and just had a thought of what would've happened had Magilton not scored that leveller.

2000-01 in Division One.
Four successive play-off failures.
Who would've gone and stayed.
Several what ifs and sliding doors moments.

I started listening to that in the gym… when the commentary from Wembley was played, of Reusers goal, i had a proper wobble and throat got all tight!

We’ll be good again... one day

I started listening to it but, over the first couple of episodes, it feels like its probably great for newer fans to acquaint with the club etc, but is treading over quite a lot of historic stuff that I assume most of us know already.
Its always nice to listen to re-runs of historic moments of course.

I think its a given that Holland would have left, in fact I think there was a story before the play-offs that City had targetted both Holland and Johnson as signings for the PL. Obviously Richard Wright would have left too.
Whilst we would have needed to replace Mowbray with no money. And then squad players like Stockwell were on their way too.

I think we had done well to fend off clubs and persuade players to hang on a bit longer, but dont think they are their agents would have hung around for another year- would likely have been a bit of a rebuild.
