Weldon nominated for CDC 12:30 - Dec 1 with 587 viewsStokieBlue

It's been a month or so now since I cited the possible appointment of RJK Jr as a horrible development for US healthcare.

Now we have Trump trying to appoint David Weldon as director of the CDC [1]. Weldon is well known to be against many vaccines even after his concerns have been scientifically disproven and will have full control to ignore recommendations from the board of advisors at the CDC. Weldon has also appeared an Anti-Vaccine film produced by Andrew Wakefield which promoted the disproven link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

Furthermore RJK Jr in his role as HHS secretary can just replace any advisor members of the CDC when he sees fit.

A real sorry state of affairs.

Sadly that once great country is becoming an absolute joke - a parody of a civilised nation, led by lunatics who were somehow democratically elected by a population 'educated' by consumer media and half-witted 'influencers'.

Regarding the presumably unfounded link with autism, did that not go to court?

Do you mean the link between MMR and autism?

It started in 1998 with a fraudulent paper by Andrew Wakefield which was published in the Lancet and has subsequently been described as probably the biggest medical hoax of the last 100 years.

Wakefield was found guilty of serious professional misconduct and struck off in 2010. There have been a number of law suits against MMR but all have been unsuccessful because the medical evidence in support of MMR and the fact it doesn't cause autism is overwhelming.

"There is no guarantee that debunking the original study is going to sway all parents. Medical experts are going to have to work hard to try to undo the damage inflicted by what is apparently a rogue medical researcher whose work was inadequately vetted by a top-ranked international journal." [1].

This was written in 2011 after Wakefield was struck off and with the aid of unvetted social media it has proven to be correct.

You need a proper adult to be charge for the coming year.

1) Whooping cough cases up 5 times more than last year.

2) 100,000 global measles deaths this year, mainly children.

3) H5N1 edging toward pandemic status.

All of the above is either coming to the US or is already there.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
