Also, I've just been reading that officially, the AFC in AFC Bournemouth is supposed to represent Athletic Football Club but strictly speaking doesn't stand for it. Their name is simply AFC Bournemouth.
It's been a wild ride for me... at 1.30 am, I realised that AFC typically stands for Association Football Club, and not, as I thought, Athletic Football Club. I thought that made a lot more sense and that's why I went for Bournemouth, and then I find out that in that case it is Athletic... although technically not!  | | | |
