Probably not just because retaining our status in the premier league is of more importance right now. It’s not an exaggeration to say it could change the foreseeable future of the club when you consider the likelihood of keeping McKenna on, the appetite of the owners to push us on and consolidate etc. I’d still back us to be very strong if we went down and have a great chance of coming back, but there’s never any guarantees. To be honest even if you guaranteed us winning it in a final against Liverpool I would still (reluctantly) probably swap it for survival right now.
It doesn’t matter though, we’re doing both. We’ll win it and stay up. Def info. | | | |

Absolutely not.
Sorry to go all modern football, but in our case it’s slightly more justified.
Not been in the top flight for 22 years, I kind of want to stay here longer. And also, the achievement of staying up this season would be one of our biggest achievements, certainly in recent years and even in our history (even more than the double promotion) given the high standard the the Prem is now and the size of our budget compared to everyone else. |  |

My argument (and I was mostly playing devils advocate) was that we could be in the Premier League for 10 years and not get a sniff of a final and ultimately isn’t football about the glory? We don’t sing many songs about the seasons we stayed in a league after all. | | | |
