So many positives and so many improvements it’s a bit wrong to moan but 19:28 - Jan 12 with 2656 views | CopfordBlue | Getting into the West Stand (and I’m guessing the North)is a shambles and it’s getting worse. Got there at 2.15pm today and didn’t get in to the ground until 2.55pm. No time to get a drink or a programme, just a 40 minute queue. At 2.40pm they’re asking hundreds of people to make a path for a car that was somehow allowed to drive through. So much to be proud of about our club and in almost every respect it’s a better match day experience now than it was 3 years ago but getting in is more difficult that an any time in the past and is worse than I’ve experienced at any other league ground. So many obvious things they could to do make it smoother - more turnstiles, more stewards, barriers to make the queue less of a scrum, separate bag search area, closing the road, moving the food stalls further back towards the park etc.

Missed the start (as did many), then got in to find no one was sat in the correct seats. Put me off going to cup games tbh, can’t imagine first time fans would rush back.

The queues were only going to get longer and it doesn't bode well for another 7:30 kick off on Thursday.
So many positives and so many improvements it’s a bit wrong to moan but on 19:43 - Jan 12 with 2451 views | Asa | We queued at 2.30 for the West Stand and were in at 2.40. Every week 90% of those queuing do so at the first turnstile instead of spreading out. Usually we walk down to the last one and get straight in. So that doesn’t help. Today was awful though and the car was a highlight. People queuing like that and then told to move to allow a car though. The woman passenger looked embarrassed.

What end were you going in on? We were queuing at gates 42 and 43 closest to the north stand. Usually we’re at the other end (near fanzone entrance) but went to the shop first today so approached the entrance from the other side. It was a mess.

So many positives and so many improvements it’s a bit wrong to moan but on 20:39 - Jan 12 with 1961 views | Churchman | No, not wrong to bring this up at all. I didn’t go today, but been to all the other games bar one. It’s ranged from ok to chaotic getting in to the West Stand. It should be better, more consistent than it is. How? Use of temporary moveable queuing barriers as they do at Wembley and at airports? and Better training for stewards and volunteers who have the unenviable job of seeing people into the ground? I’m sure there are plenty of other things. I know the ground is old, crowds large and access limited but given the club is getting so much right, I don’t think this issue is insoluble.

Which is always twice as long as just walking 5 yards to one of the other turnstiles. It’s the same every week. It’s like the people that drive round a supermarket car park for 8 minutes looking for a space by the door instead of parking immediately and walking for 10 seconds more. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
So many positives and so many improvements it’s a bit wrong to moan but on 21:45 - Jan 12 with 1530 views | DinnernotTea | Who, what and why did someone say that all adult Ipswich fans must be "scanned" in by stewards before entering? What the hell has happened in the last 3 years to warrant these weird scanning machines? This is adding time to getting in as well. Ipswich vs Bristol Rovers in January but you're scanning people for security in family areas? Mental.

Started after a Premier League audit. The ground is now a "high profile" target for terrorists and other disruptive elements. Apparently.
| I was there when McKenna's ITFC won in the Premier League at Home. Fewest home wins and equal most home defeats in a season in ITFC history. |

By the time we finally got to the turnstile they weren’t scanning or searching anyone. They weren’t even looking in bags.

Just shows how pathetically stupid the scanning and checking policy is. We have some superb people working at the club on and off the field but whoever is in charge of "security" and getting customers into the ground appears to be acting like a blithering idiot.

So many positives and so many improvements it’s a bit wrong to moan but on 07:00 - Jan 13 with 986 views | PioneerBlue | It’s not really a moan this, it’s not about the football, it’s about fan experience and the club would be interested in finding ways to improve wherever they can. We got to the ground around 2.30 and spent 10-15 mins in a queue but we are familiar with the scene. I concur with the points for the west stand. Folk are moving both directions, walking through many queues for turnstiles, there is no channel for people leaving, heading to fanzone or for anyone needing the move via that road to access other sides of ground. Several of the queue now cross the path and start in the park, some less above therefore have to contend with tree stumps, parafanalia from the burger van, even occasional park barriers. Cars are a regular issue, presume access for houses has to be retained. The burger van is way too close to the turnstiles which means people are queuing for that against queue for the turnstiles, that doesn’t work there anymore at all probably from around 2.15/2.30 it adds to the madness all the way to ko. Security in that area are doing nothing for queue management only person and bag searches, not helping organise efficient access to ground but that may be what they are asked to do. This could all be improved for sure.
