Good shout. I saw Kovacic look up and McAtee immediately make the run and knew straight away we could be in trouble. It was a beautiful goal and, similar to the Liverpool and Newcastle games, the privilege of getting to see players of that standard executing so brilliantly is at least some consolation to not getting the result we would have hoped for. |  | | |

There weren’t many players in the city side today who aren’t world class.
I think the best way to compare the teams today was when the subs started coming on. They brought on Grealish, we brought on Luongo.

If he was in line with the rest of our back line then he would have been about 3-4 years offside. This is some thing I have noticed very frequently about leaf. Defensive shape is poor, his deliveries have not been great from last season and unfortunately seems to be losing confidence to whip the ball in early. The sixth goal was the one that annoyed me the most. Sure it was good from a City point of view, but Kovacic had all the time in the world to play the pass. And then, despite playing three centre half’s, McAtee was allowed to just stroll right through them and head it in unchallenged from about 8 yards. Woeful defending. [Post edited 19 Jan 23:33]
