Starting the season with a strikeforce of Delap, Hirst and AAH. Ending it with Delap and Hirst. Not rocket science to suggest we weren’t going to score many goals was it.

Although that has been the argument for both of the last two seasons where we failed to get the strikers in that everyone said we needed. It isn't going to be any easier to find them this summer either.
So we need to accept that we can't rely on that. Develop players ourselves, find gems like Walters and Kuqi, ensure we don't rely on strikers alone for the goals.
Players we need will be players like Szmodics, J Clarke and Philogene who know how to find the net. Can we get the players they were before they joined us? That is part of the challenge. [Post edited 8 Mar 17:47]

I think the fact 10 clubs were chasing the same 2-3 players didn't help there.
Who could we have signed that we didn't? Latte-Lath? Maybe? Perhaps there's good reason we didn't. | |

This is, by some distance, my biggest irritation with this season.
Ashton deserves praise for the (many) good things he has brought to the club, but he has form here.
My other big irritation this season is Muric, but, in fairness, that one's not on Ashton. [Post edited 8 Mar 17:58]
