It did. Especially as they had just signed several players who live in the south. Then they had to play in the North !

Like Bishop Stortford last season, it’s like they’ve been royally shafted. Some of those trips in National League North are simply ridiculous for Needham Market. How much are they paying out per week? It must be so hard to recruit players when you look at the away trips they have to make. | |

A few years ago when St. Neots and Hereford were both playing in the Southern League the club used to put on a free bus to pick up people from some of the local pubs, the furthest being The George and Dragon about 2 miles from the ground, my local.
A couple of Hereford fans arrived for a pint and a free lift, silly sods had got the train and then shelled out for a taxi to get them to the pub and get their free lift to the ground, not realising that the ground is about 100 metres from the station. [Post edited 23 Mar 23:25]
