Sky Sports really should employ a translator... 16:20 - Apr 12 with 1246 viewstonybied

...when Merson and Morrison are commenting on games. I struggle to understand what the hell is happening at games they're commenting on most of the time they're on!

Merson needs to be let go. If they feel they owe him a living then stick him on a podcast or something.

Truly impaired.

Merson’s hapless.

I guess Sky feel morally obligated to continually employ him for some reason, but he makes no reciprocal effort whatsoever.

The semi literate idiot can’t even match the numbers on the shirts to the list someone has stuck in front of him.

He thinks it’s funny, most grown-ups just feel awkwardly embarrassed for him.

On the plus side, I think Clinton Morrison is great.

It's woke gone mad innit.
DEI appointments or in the case of Merson DUI.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I don't have an issue with either of their personalities, in fact, I bet they'd be great people to have a pint and a natter with but their skills in describing what is happening on the monitor in front of them to the audience is just awful. Soccer Saturday is literally jobs for the boys. Whoever the person that ever thought they would be ideal candidates to commentate on something we can't see when they both have trouble stringing a coherent sentence together is as incompetent as they are at their jobs. It boggles my mind!

Translator?
Step forward Paul Lambert.
I could only understand every other word he spoke which made him unintelligible.
He strikes me as Scottish but there seems to be a German affectation.
No idea where he got that from.
If we asked him, do you think he would tell us?

I used to really enjoy Soccer Saturday when Jeff Snelling did it, along with Le Tis, Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, et al. It was fun, in amongst the thrills of the games themselves.

Nowadays I just can't watch it. That new presenter can't lace Jeff's boots and Merson, Morrison and Boyd, for me, are useless and barely understandable.

They could certainly do a lot better than Mike Dean in the ref's spot too. He seems to have no real personality.

The best pundit, actually with the ability to describe something in a succint, descriptive and understandable manner is Sue Smith. She's excellent imho.
