Our brilliant fan base and big love for the Geordies 09:07 - Apr 27 with 1316 viewsZonderman

Can only echo everything I have seen regarding the factthat the Newcastle fans were absolute class post match yesterday.
It is interesting on here to see the difference in attitude between those of us who have been fortunate enough to travel all season and those who have been limited to home games.
A (small but vocal) few seem a bit snippy from a distance about the travelling support but I think our away following has been sensational and rightly deserving of the praise coming our way.
That said, the home crowd has also been worthy of credit for staying on side and understanding the difficulties of the clubs quick ascent through the leagues.
We are in a great place as far as our fan base is concerned and huge thanks must go to Blue Action for their hard work and vital efforts in helping to galvanise our support.
I know it’s been hard this season but personally I have loved it and absolutely believe we have many exciting times ahead of us.
Love you all 💙🤍

I don’t travel away these days, bar the odd London game (not last season) but I’m certainly not snippy about our away support. Even from video/tv etc it’s come across as really excellent and deserves the praise it’s received.

Agree re Blue Action. I hope their numbers grow and efforts continue. They’ve made a real difference.

Edit: Re Newcastle and its supporters, I’ve always had a lot of time for that part of the world and its people.

To be fair, the "home only" fans have had a lot less to cheer about this seasoon than the away following. The season has been a much grimmer experience for them than for the travelling blues - only one win, fewer draws, bigger defeats. You can see why some might question the enthusiasm of the latter group in the face of disappointment.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Blue Action deserve credit for trying - personally I'd actually like to see more blocks in the Cobbold allocated to them as I think the acoustics are better than the SBR but with current ticket demand that's not really possible.

Swansea is a good example of how fans in a side stand can lead the atmosphere

The big test for the fans will be if next season, things don't start swimmingly & do they stick 100% behind McKenna & the team. It's much easier to get behind a winning team & the Premier League has provided huge novelty value.

It's the layout at Ipswich which doesn't help, in contrast to away games where 3,000 fans are normally all in one continuous section.

In upper SBR, it is often not clear what lower SBR or Block A is singing which doesn't help one bit, and sometimes leads to three different songs breaking out at the same time, something that doesn't happen at away games.

Probably the best solution, in the rebuild of the Cobbold, would be to join Block A with upper SBR but that is probably some time off.

I’m surprised to hear this sentiment that people are critical of our fans, I’ve not seen it anywhere.

The Geordies are enjoying an astute English manager and his attacking ways. These are good times for them. Good that they still love Bobby.
