Just read that Bournemouth want the Rennes LB. I don't fear Wolves too much, I don't think Davis would be on their top 3. There's a lad already at the club (I want to say Bueno?) who looks handy whenever he's played. | |

As good as he's been I think Clarke on the left as a proper winger and Townsend in defence would make us a better team for next season. I would hope that we'd be defensively more solid as a result (with a slight change of shape) something we need to improve upon assuming we go straight back to the corrupt league. Ought to get a good fee and can use that to buy a central midfielder. Would rather keep Hutch if Ashton is true to his word about only a couple being sold. | |

We’d sign a replacement for Leif even if he goes anyway, and more than likely somebody who is more attacked focussed than defensively focussed. A punt on someone like Toffolo who’s available on a free maybe?

This probably means we will hold on to Davis now. Bournemouth were the main club I feared. Nottingham Forest have been rumoured but we will see.
If Bournemouth have sorted that position out with the Rennes LB, if Wolves turn their attention to the foreign market and Forest don't take their rumoured interest any further, then we should hold on to Davis - and with the sales of Kerkez & Ait Nouri being so early on in the transfer window, it means we should escape someone coming in for Davis closer to the season starting as I don't see what other clubs will be linked (aside from maybe West Ham, but not sure they'll want to stall the development of Oli Scarles). | |
