If I read it right, we were amongst the 8 teams who played the highest proportion of our passes long in the Premier League last season, although out of that group we made the most errors leading to an opposition shot.

Make of that what you will.

Tippy-tappy football is boring. The majority of Prem clubs do it, and the games I saw last season were dull AF compared to the Championship. There were times I thought it was easier sitting through a mediocre MM game.

Look at Hutch - this type of player is being coached out of the game.

He 'has' that ability to beat a player, to do something different, to create. See Enciso as well. We need more of these types of players, not less.

In that final third, the ability to break down a low block, get in behind, is so important. These types of players are a premium and should be valued immensely!

We were just not good enough to play that way against better opposition. It worked in d1 and championship, but pl defenders are another matter and we more often than not ended up going backwards.

Looking at the first chart, in a positive way, our errors leading to goals stat is on a par with Manchester City & Newcastle.

Agree. I would include Jack Clarke in that category. He's just atm not quite so polished as Omari.
