That’s not quite true, he left Wednesday in the summer, went to Boro and didn’t play a minute. |  |

Completely wild guess here but was it just a personality issue? I think he had Warnock at Boro unless mistaken. Mass doesn't exactly come across as 'steely' or ultra serious in persona, while that doesn't in any way affect his playing style and I'm putting no slight on his name by saying it, the opposite in fact.
I can imagine some types of managers wanting to see 'more' from someone like him, a bit like when L*mbert was suggesting Wolfy was too laid back.
Realistically I have no idea, just a guess. He did have some injury problems too didn't he? |  |
