ITFC Memorial Wall - well done Town! 21:46 - Aug 15 with 860 viewsPlums

I've had an email today with a picture of the new memorial wall with my dad's name and those of lots of fellow Blues that we've lost. It looks superb. Very dignified and nicely done.

Really looking forward to paying it a visit when next at PR.
Whatever people may think of short-term transfer business, they've got some things that really matter absolutely spot on.

Edit - for those thinking this is old news, the plaques have been redone as the club decided the text was too small so have issued the new images today.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

That's great to hear and I think the memorial wall is a wonderful idea, for the fans to have somewhere to go and pay respects to loved ones we've lost, to evoke memories of shared times with them at PR and elsewhere. They will always be a part of PR now and without wishing to sound morbid I hope my kids do the same for me one day and can go there pre match and think of our times at games we've shared together. Appreciate your post, and enjoy your memories it will bring you being there.

Yes, had a look yesterday my brother is a participant,
he would have appreciated the joke!

Very well done, gardens are immaculate.
Being an old git, apart from my brother other names I know.

Plenty of room for new entrants which hopefully will not be just yet.

Club have excelled, would expect nothing less

Thank you for this. I haven’t had the latest email yet, but I did get communication saying they’d be done/redone by the first game. My dad’s name should be there and you’ve reminded me to take a look tomorrow.

I'll be there too on Sunday with the son of the man responsible for me becoming a season ticket holder for the last 16 years.

Had a look at this today and found my dad’s name. It was strangely moving to me. No idea why. Just a printed name on a bit of tin.

But they’ve done that area so nicely and with such care. Thank you ITFC. While I was there a lady put some flowers under it and I thought of all the people no longer with us. The area was a bit dusty.

All the names there and those that are not (including my grandad’s) and just smiled. My dad would have been horrified, but secretly pleased as was his way.
