Player Departure Experience 12:12 - Aug 20 with 1323 viewsJrm_72

Meaning the slightly badly worded ticketed thing the club are doing so you can get pics with players when they leave after a match...

Would like to book my boys in for the pompey game, can't find anywhere online for what dates the tickets go on sale for each game, anyone know? Seems to go from not on sale to sold out pretty instantly

Think they go on sporadically a couple of weeks before each game.

Best bet is to ring the ticket office and ask them but I reckon the Portsmouth game will be mid-September time.

Exactly my experience too. Was trying to get some for the Derby game. Couldn’t find them advertised, kept checking daily - then they were sold out.

Wow. Is that commoditised now too?
Even if it's not a paid for 'experience' (hate that word when used in this context), am I alone in thinking that the joy is in the unexpected nature of meeting a favourite player rather than the moment itself?

I'm getting old clearly...

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

It is free but now ticketed

As someone who travels 3 hours to home matches, this is actually much better for our kids. We're never going to unexpectedly run into an ITFC player unless they are about to sign for Forest!

It’s free and it needed to be controlled tbh.

Emailed the ticket office. Not the most tip-top response in terms of usefulness:

"Typically, the experience goes live a couple of weeks prior to the fixture; unfortunately, there isn’t a set date. For Portsmouth, I would advise monitoring the website around 2-3 weeks prior to the match."

Essentially, they get released when the mood takes, so unless you want to sit F5-ing the site all day, you gotta get lucky.

I'm not opposed in principle to this sort of thing, particularly like as others my kids live quite far away and go to 3-4 games a year. I'd probably even pay for it - fairly common at places like wrestling shows I've been to.

I can’t be the only one who saw this thread title and thought Omari had left us a poor Google review about his check out experience….

Yeah considering it was launched the week of two players leaving the club, when I saw the news headline I thought it was Broady looking for someone to help lift his sofa into the moving van

This reminded me to go and look at this season's official photos on the club's page.

They seem (thankfully) to have been given the option of smiling, and not have a compulsory 'mean, moody, magnificent' ( = grumpy) look. Seems to be about half and half.
