Fin Barbrook not even getting on Lincoln City's League One bench 13:03 - Oct 14 with 2018 viewsMaySixth

This is his third loan.
We need to further develop him by playing men's professional football.

Is that Lincoln's fault, our fault or Fin's?

I'd understand your point better if we'd been keeping hold of him, rather than arranging loan moves to facilitate his development in men's professional football.

He was players' player of the year at Sutton United last season in the NL, played all the while. It's unfortunate he hasn't taken to Lincoln, perhaps L1 level generally, but it was a logical next step surely for a 20 y-o with aspirations to play for us in the future. If he needed to be pitched into L2 instead then that's a long old way from the standard required to make it here, realistically.

would suggest he's not at a level to make that step up i'd think

Think he's been hampered a bit by Lincoln having a fairly established midfield set up and the reduced matchday squad size for League One. I guess he's hoping for an injury/suspension to one of the other CMs to get a start and then do enough to tie down a starting position.

Get him another L1 loan where he might even have a chance of minutes.

They're doing well, so harder to get in the team. There were a few League One sides interested after the Bromley match, so would be a shame for him not to get a chance at Lincoln as he wouldn't be able to go anywhere else in January.

Pretty sure Zak Bradshaw had similar when he joined Lincoln. Can't recall if it was on loan from here or after release etc but I don't think he managed a league game in his short time there.

He may be a regrettable casualty of our difficult summer window - as Phil says, I believe it's Lincoln or nobody due to his appearance against Bromley. From a selfish fan perspective though, he's nowhere near knocking on the door here if he isn't knocking on the bench of a L1 side, even a relatively good one.*

*I very much hope he's able to force his way into their main group for his own enjoyment and career development.
