He was having decent enough game in match that we were generally struggling with.
Assuming he wasn't injured I can only imagine that Hirst would give us a bit more physicality against their defence.

I'd assumed it was a knock. He seemed to be feeling his ankle after a challenge late in the first half. He was playing well and we weren't as good with Hirst on replacing him, sadly. |  |

Yeah, I hate to say it as I like Hirst and when he's at his best he's quality, but he's been miles off it for half a season (bar the odd half) and we really need another number 9 who can give us more of a threat. He missed two excellent chances today and generally looked way off it. Nice touch for the one that got cleared off the line but when you've not taken two much easier chances than that, you don't get a free pass. | |
