In fairness the space station has always leaked, they've kept the Zvezda module hatch shut by default for years now to try to contain the impact of it.
Its just a function of the environment its in, plus the crazy Nauka overthrust event which torqued the whole station.
Basically Nauka docked and a software glitch later caused it to fire its thrusters, which made the whole station flip over 1.5 times in half an orbit whilst the station thrusters and even a Progress module tried to counteract the thrust, because thats very important to not let it get out of control in zero g and it only got solved when Nauka run out of fuel.
But literally we had a tumbling ISS we couldn't control its orientation, which is key for keeping the solar panels in orientation and power to the station.and yes all the crew were dispatched to shelter in Soyuz to escape if needed just like now except they used Dragon this time |  |
