| SHARK! 09:57 - Jun 8 with 1047 views | NthQldITFC | https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/vid I was reading about the Great White filmed in the Med, and it got me interested in how many shark attacks there have been in the Med or further north. https://www.sharkdatalab.com/e I was fascinated to read that in 1956 there were two fatalities, according to the map, in deepest, darkest Norfolk on the River Tiffey near Wymondham, where the activity was recorded as 'Attempting to kill a shark with explosives'. Disappointingly, it looks like their co-ordinates are wrong and it happened in Cornwall, but I had a few amusing minutes imagining a couple of bumpkins, stoned out of their faces on moonshine, lobbing grenades into a ditch at a particularly large stickleback. | |

We’ve a good population of sharks over here in Madeira including hammerhead etc but no attacks to my knowledge. | | | |
