You would hope McCullum wasn't too involved in the process - after all, it isn't his role to do so - but no doubt they will have asked his opinion. In terms of the appointment, I can see some grumbling online about his lack of red-ball coaching experience, but as you said yourself he has a load of Test experience, and as far as I know he isn't too wedded to a single style of play. |  | | |

They’ll need to work alongside each other as red & white ball coaches so the fact they have a relationship should be a positive. |  |

Flemball doesn't sound very appealing lol. I think he'll be a good test coach fwiw, he seemed to have more feel for that part of the game than the other stuff. And NZ have always turned out a good test side, they do the basics right, which if our squad of uber talents can finally get with,we might actually be capable of beating teams ranked above us for a change | | | |

I think he’s a very different character to Mcullum. If I recall correctly he was a studious cricketer, methodical and organised. Should translate well in to red ball cricket management. |  | | |
