Pretty much everyone thought GO’N’s appointment was, well, uninspired, but he’s been absolutely fantastic so far. He’s kept that never say die attitude which KMcK installed into the team and it’s alive and well in the EPL, whether we’re apparently down and out at Old Trafford or the Etihad.

Absolutely!

Will readily admit I didn’t love his appointment when it was announced, though I was happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes. He’s done an excellent job of fashioning us into a side that can really compete at this level.

I enjoyed that match. It could have been all over at 3:1 and people would normally be screaming to protect our goal difference. GO’N substitutes not only improved the goal difference but made a real game of it.

Tactically we are so far more flexible than two years ago. Part of that is down to the players we have at our disposal. But it was nice to see a change of formation today - a different approach for a tough game.

I was happy with his appointment and was surprised everyone was so negative about it.

He's had a good start. He got the tactics badly wrong against Man U and Liverpool, but has learnt from it. We're not playing that ridiculous high line anymore, and we look much better without the ball. Still work to be done defensively, but we look better set up now.

I'm confident that we will comfortably stay up.
