Keane Will Look to Loan Market
Keane Will Look to Loan Market
Friday, 4th Sep 2009 11:42

Town boss Roy Keane has confirmed he will be looking to add to his squad through the emergency loan window when it opens on Tuesday. Earlier today, the Blues were linked with a renewed move for long-time target Daryl Murphy from Keane’s old club Sunderland.

The Town manager told the club site: "That's something we will look at. As much as you would prefer to have players who you know are going to be here for two or three years, the loan market has to be explored.

"The big clubs might be considering loaning out some of their young players and we have done well in that respect with Jack Colback coming here, so it's something we are aware of and we have to keep our options open."

Keane says he has no complaints at player trading continuing into the first month of the season: "I'm OK with the transfer window, some managers get upset with it, but it's part of the game now.

"You spend a lot of time on the phone and there is wheeling and dealing going on. It's a busy time with so many deals in the balance but once the deadline passes, you know where you stand."

Keane signed Sunderland duo Grant Leadbitter and Carlos Edwards on a permanent basis and Reading's Liam Rosenior on loan on the final day of the transfer window.

If people on here claim we need a brutus of a CB, why didn't we go for Jaidi? He may not be the quickest but his thick head (headering anything) helped to get Birmingham promoted and his technical brain at the back will help stabilise the nervous defence. We get him on a one, maybe, two year deal and in the mean time we can be finalising the likes of Wood or any other CB that Rk has in mind. Personally, McAuley and Bruce do the business for me!!

I agree with ITFC Hollywood, GIO DOS SANTOS will not come back!
I wish he would since he is sensational but he just wont!
However i would like official confirmation since still Gio's agent has said nothing and Harry Redknapp has been known to say one thing and do the other. It also still says on the Spurs site that he is a town player! surely that would have stopped after a day or so if it was simply a type error?

sorry to mention it lol

'Give me the money for 2 top class strikers and I'll get you promoted' - quote from Joe R when he was the manager. Who was he able to get with the money available? Well, ok, he had Bent and Shefti, which probably equates to one good striker and a half. Then some other blokes who couldn't score, then Lee...........who didn't score..........It's goals that get you promoted.

Striker/s on loan, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!

Jaidi has gone to Southamton.

Think we should keep going for Giovani and try and get Shittu then we will have the team to get us were we want to be

Is reported (Green un) that Redknapp sees GIo as part of his plans at Spurs, so not sure if a loan move for him will come off now?

Although we have signed some good quality players and this shows keano wants us to go in the right direction (the premiership) and we all know we can, keano said from the start we will be promoted in 2 seasons so if we lose at middlesbrough let's not all get negative again because let's face it we will move up the table soon very quickly, but Middlesbrough ate a quality side who have just been relegated from the premiership and they still have a very good squad so let's get behind the town at matches let's make as much noise as possible (home AND away) and let's all get OUR club promoted together

Cmon the town

I along with (obviously) many others would love to have Gio back, but until it happens I'm not holding out much hope, also with Modric out for a while, even if there had been the slightest chance, I very much doubt it'll happen now anyway.
Maybe we should all be greatful to have seen Gio at Portman Road last season and just look forward to the future, which I think is going to be a very good one even with our dismal start.

As for Gio, considering Keano is our manager, I think signing Owais Shah is more likely.

I have been mentioning Danny Welbeck for a couple of weeks now. Obviously out of our price range to buy , but loan ?
Does anyone know if and when Champions League squads have to be submitted ?
If he is not in United's Champions League squad then season loan could be on the cards?
Yes please Roy !!

**LATEST NEWS ON A SIGNING FROM SPURS** My mate has a brother who works for the Daily Mail, he was speaking to his girlfriends dad, (who works in the Tottenham press office) who overheard a phone call between a senior board member at Spurs & an unamed official at ITFC, well, it seems like the conversation centred on a loan deal, with a highly paid employee agreeing to a loan move to ITFC, When pushed on this matter the senior board member confessed that indeed an approach had been made from ITFC to take the SPURS COACH DRIVER ON LOAN FOR THE SEASON, WITH A VIEW TO A PERMANENT MOVE.

Well, lets be honest its more likely to happen than Gio returning isn't it!?!?

Worst moment? Whenever Daryl Murphy appeared on the pitch.
