Hearts Boss: Wallace Interest No Surprise
Hearts Boss: Wallace Interest No Surprise
Tuesday, 10th Nov 2009 13:01

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo says he isn’t surprised that left-back Lee Wallace is attracting interest from other clubs. Earlier today, Town were reported to be watching the Scotland international with a view to a January move.

Laszlo said: "I have watched how Lee Wallace has improved and his first cap for his country was a big moment for him.

"He did very well for us last season and signed a new contract [until 2012]. We saw many players leave in the summer and I do not want to lose many more. But I know how football works and if someone is doing well then it is OK for clubs to be looking at them.

"We have a young team at Hearts and need experience. Lee is just 22 but is a senior international. He has been part of our defence this season and has helped us a lot at the back.

"He is still learning in the game but is a player who wants to work hard. He is one of the best in his position in Scotland and can be a national player for a long time. If you tell me a club is interested in him, then I say this is normal."

Town are also said to be eyeing Wallace’s Portuguese team-mate Jose Goncalves.

Not sure that a left back is priority at the moment...we need a striker! Possibly a centre half too, but if Delaney can keep playing like he is, then we should be ok in that department.

I've said it for two seasons now and I'll say it again, take Andrew Driver from them and have Civelli concentrate on left back when he gets back healthy.

People on here amaze me, Keane wins one game and all of a suden he is the man to take us forward, delaney has two games at centre back where he was not the worst palyer on the field and now he is a quality centre back. You boys are so esily pleased its scary!"

Wait a minute, did you goto Reading? Delaney stood out in that game, looked like a different player. Give the bloke a chance for fecks sake! He has played centre half in two games and we have conceded one goal and a clean sheet...far better than anyone else this term at centre half!

TEDTURNIP - I bet he sits on his sofa and watches sky sports news, gets all his opinions from a brief comment from Chris Kamara and then his mind is made up......

So you don't go, see the result, and then copy what other people say and put it in different words.

Wow.

pickles, how can you tell if anybody has been to an Ipswich game or not?

You said the same thing about me recently. How wrong you were. FYI I went to my first Town match in 1983 (at Hillsborough - Eric Gates scored 2 goals and I got his autograph) and have been going on and off ever since (but not recently due to commitments and distances involved). Doesn't mean I support the Town any less though.

I think people who can get to games regularly should count themselves very fortunate in many ways.

Uefa81 - You're missing the point somewhat. Of course those who go are fortunate and I certainly count myself such - but that has literally nothing to do with the holding of dogmatic opinions unsubstantiated by any empirical evidence that one would glean when actually watching ITFC play.

For crying out loud; you cannot form an opinion via a prejudiced third party and then proudly die by your sword, that's daft! It's the equivalent of reading that aliens have landed, and then going to your mates and telling them till you're blue in the face that it's the truth! You'll never be taken seriously, which is your loss and a shame.

I'm sorry, being perfectly candid, if you don't see the games, your opinion [especially on how players have performed!!] is worth far less. Particularly when there has been a [now subsiding, thankfully] subversive agenda to rout a manager in the press.. it's just bizarre!

Anyway, It's pretty obvious who goes to games and who doesn't on reading comments.

That's why I never comment on player's performances mate.

All I know is RK is a crap manager - our results and the table doesn't lie. I truly believe he has a malevolent influence on the players and this will not change obviously until he has gone.

I don't have to attend games to realise that!

PYBOKeaneo I think UEFA81 has a point, 25,000 people watch a game, go to the pub afterwards & have such differing opinions, you wouldn't believe they were at the same game!!

It's the same with Roy Keane, some think he's a work in progress & others' like me, think he should never have been appointed in the first place, it's all about individuals opinions. To which my friend, we are all entitled, at games or not. Tis a long old poke from Devon, wish I lived in Ipswich still but don't, however all you smug season ticket holders needn't think you know evrything.

Currently Keanes record is there for all to see, love him or hate him, the records crap FACT!

AJblue added 23:49 - Nov 10
Devon...one mans crap is another farmers manure!

2 year contract ...lets judge the record at the end of his tenure (however long that is)

I agree with you, he certainly wasnt my first choice as manager, however the FACT is he is, and i see it as my duty to support him all ican whilst he is our manager, and when he nolonger is , i will then decide if he was crap or not.
