Birmingham's McSheffrey Linked
Birmingham's McSheffrey Linked

Town are one of a number of clubs claimed to have been chasing out-of-favour Birmingham winger Gary McSheffrey. The Blues, Sheffield United and Coventry are all said to have made enquiries but the 27-year-old is keen to stay at St Andrew’s and fight for his place.

McSheffrey said: "I want to play more but it's a better situation than I was in back in August when they were looking to offload me.

"I still feel I have a lot to offer. It's getting that chance. Things can change so I'm sure if I started doing the business then maybe I wouldn't be up for sale.

"I haven't had a chat with the manager, I've just put my head down and worked hard."

Elsewhere, the Portuguese press is again linking Town with Benfica central defender Miguel Vítor. The Blues, Sunderland and Hull City are all said to want to take the Portugal U21 international on loan in January, although they face opposition from Atletico Madrid. Portsmouth and Birmingham were also previously linked.

Meanwhile, the News of the World’s website claims “dressing room sources” have slammed Roy Keane’s management of the club.

Its who i am animal, the overecagerating type ha!

It really gets to me that he had the whole summer to sort his team out and here we are near christmas and there are still 4/5 positions that I would change! Yet we sign a keeper although we have wrighty who i think has been treated unfairly and should be in the team.

I would buy a new left back, centre back, left mid, and striker (maybe two) altho9ugh if we had rhodes he would be a regular

has anyone read that article about keane ? its obviously players who arent in the squad and 1 source mentions when he was at sunderland, nobody in the team would know what he was like at sunderland apart from stead, leadbitter, colback & edwards. my moneys on stead!! yes we've neeeded the hairdyer treament most times this season, as would any manager in our postion but i have faith in keane, everyone wants to see him fail.

Yet another "player link" that will never happen..... However I did hear that after saying that he wanted to see out his career with Man Utd, Wayne Rooney did confirm that the only team he would consider leaving Man Utd for would be Ipswich Town, when questioned "why, Ipswich Town?" Rooney replied "I've always been up for a challenge?!?!"

Fecking NOTW ever wrote a story without lieing? The fact it even claims to be a 'Newspaper' is an insult. I and some friends took that rag to press complaints board (another joke) over a story it made up. We even used their own secretly taken video to prove beyond a doubt thier story was a load of made up lies. But we were nobodies, we aren't rich nor were we celebrieties so they sided with the paper. So if anyone is taking what that rag says as even near the truth forget it, the fact that they say sources should tell you it is all made up twaddle.

It took the whole of Liverpool to get that scummy paper and its parasites to admit they'd lied so i'm not surprised Wickedblue. I'm sure if we sat down with Mr Doyle who wrote the article and looked him in the eyes his bulls**t would be fairly evident.

Even if there is any validity in it, put your dummy back in your mouth and roll your sleeves up you sap. If you're not doing it you get hairdryer treatment or you're dropped simple as.

Would be a good signing, but if he does move it most likely be to Sheffield United

Don't need him, probably rubbish rumours anyway!

"is he any better than Civelli" says someone : ha-ha! Nice one : a one-legged clothes horse is better than Civelli. People have short memories : just because Civelli has been out injured and missed this diabolical season so far, he has somehow assumed superstar proportions in some eyes. He's rubbish. Like the rest of the squad.

How desperate would we have to be to sign him????
Oh yeah, I forgot........we are holding up the mighty Championship :)
Sign him up Keano and then stick him in the stands with Priskin, Delaney, Colback, Martin etc

Cannot see McSheffrey coming here think its just journo tittle tattle!
Regarding News of the Screws story, its just comments from different people taken out of context and put together to make up a story....for instance the bits about what he was like at Sunderland were in a recent article by Carlos Edwards in which he praised Keane!! Of course it could be true but Keane failing is journalist nirvana so they will slant every article against him

I hope we don't sign him. He is only going to sit on the bench and we will just spend more money on a player that we don't need. I think the truth is that Keane needs to learn man mangement skills. Burley had the same problem, he lost the dressing room and then departed. Maybe Mr Keane should take note.
Simple fact is this if the players are happy they will play well, if not then they will just count the matches till he is gone. They keep getting paid the same money. Supple said it I think, that some of the team just dont care. It's not about the club, the position, the fans, it is a job. Do you really care if you firm does good or bad, no you just earn money to pay for things in life and if something better comes along you join a new firm.

People have to understand this, they are just working. but the management have to get the best out of them, Keane needs to get that sorted. A top coach once told me a team that gets on will produce but an unhappy one will just fall apart.
Maybe the new players on big wages have upset the others, when we went up the wages were closely matched, don't think they are now.
Keane has a job to do to get the team motivated and working as a unit. But it maybe a massive task and time must be running out.

Why do we need a left back = were playing a right footer left back and does not help the balance of the team!

Why do we need a left mid = because lee martin is shiiit, civelli is still unproven & injured

Why do we need a centre back = because the ones we have are barely goot enough for league 1 football, smith will be class tho!

Although its not Keane's fault he has only had 5 months to sort a decent squad out.

KEANE OUT

Would be a good signing - but this is only tabloid talk. No comment on the NOTW report - probably nothing in it.

^^Keane won't be able to get the best out of any player - an existing one or any potential signing. What many people can't see (or stubbonly refuse to see) is that it is the management that is wrong and things will never imrove at PR until the dark era of Roy Keane is over with. You could sign a full squad of world-class players but they would always perform abysmaly under Roy Keane - it is obvious the man has no people skills whatsoever and has an attitude that stinks.

Keane - sign who you want, sell who you want, play who you want. It will make no odds whatsoever to performances and results - it is YOU that is the problem not the players. Sling your bloody hook man.

Forget Wood.... This is a guy we want... Goalscorer from midfield we can't compare him with Civelli considering the amount we have seen him! Anyway only press speculation... I would be shocked if he dropped down tbh he could be Premiership quality but has faded away in recent years but doesn't mean he can't come back. Maybe a loan would be better for him but either way it's PRESS so never going to happen!
