Holland on TV Tuesday, 12th Jan 2010 09:05
Ex-Town skipper Matt Holland is set to front the BBC’s new regional football show Late Kick Off. The programme, which includes discussion and analysis of all the Football League games from the east of England, starts on Monday 18th January at 11.15pm.
Holland, who has become a regular in the media since leaving Charlton at the end of last season, is looking forward to it: “It's very new, very exciting and a new challenge. I've been a pundit but not presented a show so a bit out of my comfort zone.
“It's something I've fallen into a little bit. Ever since my late 20s I've done more and more in the media in terms of commentaries and radio and television shows. When I retired in the summer I was looking for something new to do.”

I'm sure he'll be better than Gay Lineker when he started on the BBC and look at him now, a very accomplished presenter.

As per my post last night, it is being produced by Kevin Piper but I hope it won't be as Nodge biased as his previous efforts.

I hope he remembers he doesn't need to clap the crew when the credits roll. Could be the new Linnekar, y'know, but without the crisps.

Captain Marvel + utter legend. Artistic & eloquent, somewhat of a rarity in todays football! Kevin Piper should be downgraded to somewhere outside broadcasting, what a twonk!

bluepeter, if all of your electric is off, how are you gonna watch tv? Does it run on batteries?

Excellent. This can hopefully give more coverage of Ipswich highlights for people who didn't make it to the game. I, who does go to most matches, I would love to get a tv view to see the controversial moments (Steady's Sending off) or moments of brilliance (E.g. Lee-Barretts save against Leicester Sunday gone) again. For all the people who don't live in and around Ipswich (like meself) I'm hoping that Sky channel 981(BBC1 East E) should show it!

great itfc player he may've been. but as a tv presenter? hmm... we'll see. he fits the bbc bill though - pretty bland and inoffensive. i won't be expecting anything even midly controversial from him. still, more itfc on the telly - no bad thing.

Inevitable! It was only ever a matter of time. Class performer on and off the pitch. Good luck Matty, though I still find it hard to believe he's retired!

Excellent! Good luck Matt! Hopefully, you'll be able to counteract the Naarwich bias in this medium. Look forward to some tongue-in-cheek observations on our feathered friends.
