Former Blue Martijn Reuser will retire at the end of the season when his contract with his current side NAC Breda ends. The 35-year-old joined the Blues from Ajax for £1 million in 2000 after a successful loan spell and spent four years at the club.

Reuser, who was on loan at Vitesse in his native Holland before joining Town, has often been injured in recent years, which he cites as the reason behind his retirement: "That makes the decision to quit easier. Only if AC Milan calls, I will continue, but that probably will not happen."

The scorer of the winning goal in both the 2000 play-off semi-final second leg with Bolton and the final at Wembley against Barnsley, Reuser has been with Willem II, RKC Waalwijk and for the last two years NAC Breda since leaving Portman Road.

The Dutchman made 53 starts and 58 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring 19 goals.
