Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Wednesday, 14th Jul 2010 16:41

New Town number one shirt Brian Murphy says he’s looking forward to Saturday’s friendly against PSV at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven (KO 7pm). Murphy is expecting a somewhat bigger test than the first two pre-season games against Newmarket and Histon, which the Blues won 9-1 and 6-0.

The former Bohemians man told the club site: "It's still early in pre-season and for me it's about getting my bearings, getting my positions right from set-pieces and that sort of thing.

"The sharpness and fitness is obviously important as well, but I also want to win every game and play in every game and it will be no different on Saturday.

"It will be a different kettle of fish for us to the two games we have played so far, but we're all looking forward to it. It will be a big test for us but if we go out and play like we have been during training, then we will be OK."

The Blues are also in action more locally on Saturday with a reserves side taking on Great Yarmouth Town at the Bloaters’ Wellesley Ground (KO 3pm). Further details on Town's pre-season games can be found here.

blueherts: I do love the way you manage to intertwine complete dross in the middle of you facts...
Yes your right Keane cannot buy until he sells.... but how do you know it's because ME doesn't trust him? why can't it just be he's not prepared to increase the wage bill?
Yes it may be a shame we didn't go in for Simeone Jackson (no comment on that as I've never seen him play) BUT complete rubbish that RK cannot attract players... Both Chopra (+ another unconfirmed player) were ready to sign for RK. Fee agreed, met RK, want to sign, then ME/Clegg sit down to agree wages and the process falls apart... basically the same time that ME/Clegg say RK must reduce wage bill before signing new players....
Last fact... unproven either way I would say... he had success with Sunderland and so far has failed with us... unproven!
The bit that really gets my goat is that I am NOT a real RK enthusiast that follows him blindly... I just think he should be given a little more time, yet I find myself constantly defending him on these boards, not because I think he's the bee's knee's, but because I cannot bear to ignore the constant drivel written by many of the anti RK brigade blaming him for all the woes of the club, country and world put together... I agree he isn't the messiah, but he sure isn't the anti-Christ either! Yes he needs a massive improvement on last year, but hey, so did Alf Ramsey, Bobby Robson and Alex Ferguson after their first years in charge... They turned out ok!

Everyone out there be honest? PSV are a good side but does anyone think that they will destroy us on Saturday? They'll probably win by 2 maybe even 3 goals but we won be taken apart by them?

Is ANYBODY on here actually going to this match on Saturday??

(That includes YOU ELVIS)??

I am. Hotels in Eindhoven are at a premium as there is some music/dancing festival weekend on.

Q to anybody that is actually going... where are you drinking before the match??

I'm going to this game, but driving to and from London so drinking is out the window for me - however, we need to place to go crazy at!
