O'Dea Injured in Ireland Training Tuesday, 31st Aug 2010 14:45
Loanee Town defender Darren O’Dea picked up a knee injury in training with the Republic of Ireland squad in Dublin this morning and is considered a doubt for their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Armenia and Andorra. O’Dea has been hugely impressive at left-back since joining the Blues on loan from Celtic earlier this month.
The 23-year-old was taken to hospital to undergo scans after suffering a heavy knock during this morning’s training session.
O’Dea, who spent time with Reading last season, is on loan with the Blues until January.

Hopefully a speedy return - due to our lack of cover. "hugely impressive" is over-playing it a bit!!

Hopefully he wont be out too long, he looks a quality defender, so strong in the tackle and decent going forward

Had a decent game against Bristol City on saturday. Looks like the squad is getting even smaller for a little while at least.

i went on Saturday and i was very impressed, didnt look out of place at all, went into tackles hard but fairly, often coming away with the ball and their man was left on the deck......

He was more impressive at Palace than at home to Brizzle. At Palace he was excellent.

Come on Mr Keane, this is transfer deadline day. There must be loads more dross that nobody else wants that you can snap up.

it does say he is only 'doubtful' so to me that appears to imply it really isnt that serious - so come on ROI send him home for some TCL and we'll see him at Portsmouth saturday week :-)

I hope this isn't too serious, with the lack of new signings the squad size is becoming a worry. Roy must think the world is against him!!!

Arguably our best player at Palace, and another solid performance at the weekend. interesting to see how he performs if played at CB alongside McAuley.

Hope it's not a bad injury, he has looked very solid L/B and seems to love getting stuck in. COYB
