Town Number Four in Cup Draw
Town Number Four in Cup Draw
Thursday, 28th Oct 2010 10:37

Town will be number four in this weekend's draw for the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup, which will be held during Sky’s Soccer Saturday from 12.20pm. The Blues are the only Football League side left in the competition.

It’s the first time in 10 years that Town have made it to a League Cup quarter-final, Manchester City having been beaten 2-1 after extra-time at Maine Road at the same stage in 2000/01. The game had to be rearranged after originally being abandoned due to heavy pre-match rain.

Quarter-final ties are scheduled to take place in the week commencing November 29th.

Carling Cup — Quarter-Final Draw

1 Arsenal
2 Aston Villa
3 Birmingham City
4 Ipswich Town
5 Manchester United
6 West Bromwich Albion
7 West Ham United
8 Wigan Athletic

Only side out side the prem left, well done town, home to Man U or Arsenal would be nice or a Wigan or West Ham at home would give us a chance of a Semi place

Manchester United or Arsenal at home, bet there won't be 12950 odd in the ground for that!

Either Man Utd at home or West Ham at home otherwise will be disappointed. If we dont get one of the big 2 then I hope they draw each other to give us hope if we win of getting even further!

No, the semi-finals are a two legged affair so home and away ties against whoever we get if we make it

I'm hoping for an away tie, easier (for me) to get to!

Any of these away would be great! :

2 Aston Villa
3 Birmingham City
5 Manchester United
6 West Bromwich Albion

...hoping for United away though!

Keane has to go! This pre draw draw is terrible and is all his fault!

Id like to see us get revenge over birmingham after said 10 years ago in the semi's, blatantly sabotaged their own pitch to get the result as we coulnt play our game. As much as i would like to see us get man utd (which i believe will happen as fate will bring roy against his old boys) i would also like to see us progress in the competition. they will all be tough games but i fancy us against wigan or west ham.

lets get Arsenal away, such a great stadium and some great football to match.

Well, I hate to be pessimistic but that's as far as we are going in this competition. At least we are guaranteed to see some goals in the next round !!!

Happy with any as long as it is at HOME!! Obviously Arsenal or ManU is first choice (although we'll probably get WestHam) but bottom line is, we are in the Quarters and should enjoy the next game. Who knows, we could get to the Semi's, stranger things in Football have happened!

Being the only non-Prem side, are we likely to be televised? Intense media interest and all that jazz.
