Reserves Kick-Off Switch

Tuesday's reserve game against Luton at Playford Road will now kick-off at 1pm, having previously been scheduled for 2pm. The match could see striker Connor Wickham - around whom there is further speculation this afternoon - get back into action.

Wickham, who a rather unconvincing report claims would prefer a move to Arsenal or Spurs rather than Liverpool, contrary to an earlier story, may make his return after his thigh injury. The somewhat speculative piece claims Spurs will offer the Blues £5.5 million plus current loanees Andros Townsend and Jake Livermore for the England U21 international.

Alan Quinn, Colin Healy and Luciano Civelli could also be in the squad, along with youngsters such as Reggie Lambe, Ronan Murray, Tom Eastman, Billy Clark, David Cawley and Jamie Griffiths.

The match was originally down to be hosted by the Hatters before being moved last week.

Interesting - what do people think of this? Hadn't occured to me that Spurs might be doing us loan favours this season to secure a favourable position when it comes to Wickham's future.

Interesting point. For one, i'd take it, Townsend has played well, and Livermore has potential.

true, Conner has BAGs of potential, but we need ability NOW, unfortunatly :s

Interesting to see what will happen regarding the future of Connor Wickham. Are Townsend and Livermore worth 4.5 million? Because it was thought that Spurs were going to pay £10 million.

Forget Livermore one good pass since he's been here. Townsend yes please but him and Livermore not worth £4.5M. £8m and those two would be more like it (Livermore may eventaully come good) but then the club keep telling us Wickam is going nowhere !!!

Townsend and Livermore are both decent enough players but their collective value is definitely not £4.5m and to be honest, I'm not certain they are better than other players in our squad. Funds are required to rebuld the squad, but this would be a sideways step, particularly if RK was spending the rest of the cash.

Given the need to rebuild would reluctantly accept £8m for Connor Wickham (plus a healthy sell on clause). I would value Townsend at about £750k, with the rest in cash. Gio would be nice but can't see it happening.
