Colback Recalled By Sunderland But Livermore Gets Cup Nod
Colback Recalled By Sunderland But Livermore Gets Cup Nod
Thursday, 6th Jan 2011 16:28

Midfielder Jack Colback has been recalled by Sunderland ahead of the Black Cats' FA Cup third round tie against Notts County at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Better news for the Blues is that Jake Livermore has been given permission to play for Town in their tie at Chelsea on Sunday.

Colback had less than two weeks remaining on his loan at Portman Road and has said he'd ideally like to secure a permanent move rather than another loan this month. Blues boss Roy Keane has confirmed that he would be interested if the price is right.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce decided Colback was required back on Wearside after David Meyler suffered a knee injury, Danny Welbeck a hamstring problem and Bolo Zenden picked up a suspension.

More positive news for Sunday's FA Cup match at Chelsea is that Jake Livermore has been cleared to play, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp originally not granting permission.

Town have also asked Celtic to allow Darren O'Dea to play at Stamford Bridge, but Rory Fallon is cup-tied having featured for Plymouth in the competition earlier in the season.

Grant Leadbitter is suspended for his red card late on in the Nottingham Forest match.

No, dont get Jewell. He made a big mess at the Rams and put Derby County back a few years. He undid all the great work Billy Davis had done in a few months! He left a very large squad, millions wasted and a huge wage bill. He had Robbie Savage in reserves for ages!!
Its took a lot of hard work by Nigel Clough to get the team and club back in sound financial shape and playing decent football.

Allardyce is a no go for me too. If people dont like Keanes direct style of play than Big Sam isnt going to be much better. Big Sam is arrogant, loves himself and irritating. There is something very dodgy about him too, there were whispers of him taking bungs for suspect transfers a few years ago at Bolton.

Personaly I would like to see Chris Hughton in charge. He is a brilliant tactican, man manager and a very shrewd operator in transfer market. He can also get the best out of youth players and senior players alike. He is quite and doesnt say much in the media. He plays good style of football and has a good reputation within the footballing world. He knows the Championship, Premierleague and has coaching experience at international level.

Anyway Best of luck Jack Colback

Local newspaper reporting that Keane will hold his normal pre-match press conference tomorrow. Odds also shortened that he WILL be in charge against Chelsea ....

I think we should get Nigella Lawson. Can't do any worse than Keane and the food would definately be better than 'er up the road. Plus listening to her in the press conference would be like porn!

..... Fallon who are absolutely $hite is beyond me ???

What games have you been watching whoppit - or do you just read newspaper and listen to the radio?

Having said that - I did agree with the rest of your post.

Regarding the rumour of Keane gone and Jewell coming in - please God no. Out of frying pan into fire springs to mind in my humble opinion!

Well, some good news then : Colback being recalled, I mean. Livermore is even worse, so that's the bad news. We will be lucky to score nil.

If this story is true,-then its obvious why Keane isn't getting any support in the transfer window-
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11707_6638909,00.html

Skysports GENERALLY seem pretty good at knowing what is going on. Huge pressure on Keane if thats the case (lose at Chelsea and you're finished!). I feel a little harsh (he should have been sacked a long time ago- to put pressure on what is a nearly impossible game is nothing short of ridiculous).
Maybe ME is waiting for Hodgson? Who knows. Whoever does take over here has got one hell of a battle on their hands (starting with trying to get existing players to sign their new contracts- and changing our entire tactical play). You can't make the Leadbitter's of this world into suddenly amazing passers of the ball. Whoever it is will need LOADS of money to bring in 4/5 players AT LEAST that play with creativity and etiquette.
There's been a lot of damage done to this club, but I don't think Keane should go based on an away result at Chelsea. He should have been sacked months ago. If ME does that it really shows more about ME's character than Keane's. Get rid of him now BEFORE the game!
How is he meant to win at Chelsea?

jas- the source is in the link above. Jewell is touted as favourite with Hughton 2nd. Still think ME may wait to see what happens at Liverpool though....

Quote from 'The Guardian' newspaper - "If I lose my job, I lose my job. There's always speculation about lots of managers in the Premier League and Championship so it's nothing new. If you think I'm fearful of that, don't kid yourself. I've got a good wife and five good kids so I'll be OK whatever happens." Is this a case of "I'm alright Jack"? What about we poor deluded supporters?
The article also repeated the rumour that RK is going to Celtic to manage [??] them next season.
This is all getting too damned laughable - please Mr Evans and/or Mr Clegg make a statement so we fans know what is happening to our club. Please.....
