Bullard Linked With QPR Talks
Bullard Linked With QPR Talks
Thursday, 2nd Jun 2011 11:19

Town loanee Jimmy Bullard is reported to be holding talks with QPR regarding a move to Loftus Road today. Neil Warnock’s newly-promoted side were regularly represented at Portman Road during the 32-year-old’s hugely successful spell with the Blues, which saw him win the club’s Player of the Year award.

Blues boss Paul Jewell is keen to sign his former Wigan player on a permanent basis but has admitted that with Bullard having two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week contract at Hull it would be a very difficult deal for Town to do.

Premier League QPR — or Norwich or Wigan who have both also been linked — would find the financial aspects of a move for the one-time England call-up less challenging than the Blues, despite the player himself saying he enjoyed his time at Portman Road and would love to extend his stay if a deal could be done.

Meanwhile, exiting Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson has turned down the chance to join Town and Millwall, according to a report in the Midlands, and is expected to sign for Derby County.

Elsewhere, former Blue John Kennedy, 32, has joined Bury Town, having been released by Cambridge City, while ex-reserves skipper Justin Miller, 30, has returned to Chelmsford City having left Rushden and Diamonds.

Our club is a joke, I am fed up of every season being linked with players we know are quality and what we need, to then see them sign for other clubs.

Links are so boring now, its not even worth reading them, the only pre season excitment we will have is Jamie Griffiths siging.

Jewell will have the same problem as Keane, this club cannot sign the big players..........Official

Just shows how difficult it is to sign players. Tempted not to keep looking at this great web site for a couple of weeks and then tune in to see who we have bought. No, got to keep looking, 5 or 6 times a day. It's driving me nuts with anticipation. How many players do we need now? !!!

Always going to sign for a club near (or in) London and if higher wages are available at QPR then he will sign for them.

Injury free he knows he can still play in the Prem, but can see him not being an automatic choice at QPR due to the style they play.

Please put this Rubbish Bullard story to bed!!!!!!! We knew two weeks ago he wouldnt sign for us! No news at all coming from the club, We will end up with panic buys as normal.

Can't help feeling we'll dodge a bullet here. Good player though he is our experience of older players has been consistently bad in recent times. Jewel needs to start building a young side. One that will get better and better over the next five years ending in promotion.

Though personally promotion doesn't interest me I'd like to see us Champions of the Championship and then turn down the premiership offer and defend the title.

I would've thought QPR, with all their money, would get someone of Jimmy's calibre but without the injury situation. Why gamble?

I wish JB the best of luck if he signs for a PL side, as long as it's not Norwich. If he doesn't go to the prem, I think he'd come here

Get behind the manager 'The Truth' & stop knocking the club. We had a great end of season, got players in like Bullard & Dyer & that shows ambition. Your hero Keane was given huge lumps to sign Martin (A Man U hot prospect), Priskin (Full International), Leadbitter (Prem regular) etc etc Maybe the fact they got dumped in the reserves & refused contract talks (prob under keanes advice), might be a deterrent to joining. Sticking loyal to that idiot when anyone with any brain knew he was totally flawed will take time to recove from. COYB. In PJ we trust!

We all knew JB wouldn't sign for us, and who can blame him if he gets the chance to play in the PL? This is no surprise. It is not PJ's fault either. We should be glad if he at least signs for QPR and not the Budgies. We move on! COYB!

byebyesheepshanks..........I thought we had moved on with the bickering

Where did i mention anything that said I love you Roy, come back??

My point is that these links to players are boring now - Its as simple as this, until theres a press conference all these stories are just there to wind us all up

Kieron Dyer - That was a great signing wasnt it, 2 appearances?? Quality

You obviously know far too much about football, enjoy next season, its gonna be another farce

Don't worry - my wife knows someone who's doing work experience in Poundland who swears that Michael Owen came in there yesterday with Simon Clegg.

Very worried for next season, I will be happy with mid table again.
We had a squad of round 34 players that must be down to 22- 25 players now.

Griffith, Hyam,O'Connor, Cevilli,Ansley look like they are now 1st team regulars now Peters might get a shot now.

Paul Jewell will have another Derby on his hands, Feel sorry for those that have paid out a lot of money on season tickets, they will have to watch it.
Hope PJ proves me wrong and those that have brought season tickets have the last laugh

Like anybody else id love to have bullard, but we have to be realistic and build a team for nex season: we have leadbitter, drury/carson, hyam and peters who id happily see there next season. In central defence though we have smith and delaney (and ainsley). Thats it. We need to sort out the defence first then get a goalscorer and then we can work on improving the midfield and goalkeeper.
