![]() Wednesday, 20th Jul 2011 11:41 Former Town fitness coach Antonio Gomez has joined Spanish Segunda División side Cartagena. The 34-year-old left the Blues earlier in the month to return to his native Spain. The Blues are yet to name a replacement but boss Paul Jewell says this has had no bearing on the club’s pre-season preparations: "I've been promoted twice [at Bradford and Wigan] without a fitness coach. “The fitness levels of the players are fine, just because we haven't got a fitness coach, it doesn't mean we've been sitting on our backsides." Prozone analyst Jon Bickers has joined assistant manager Chris Hutchings, coach Sean McCarthy and new goalkeeper-coach Malcolm Webster in putting the players through their paces prior to the three pre-season matches so far.
