Bullard Suspended By Hull - Reports
Bullard Suspended By Hull - Reports
Wednesday, 20th Jul 2011 23:58

Former Town loanee Jimmy Bullard has been suspended for two weeks by Hull City, according to reports in East Yorkshire. The midfielder was left out of the Tigers side which won 2-1 at Winterton Rangers this evening.

After the game, amid rumours that last season’s Town Player of the Year had been suspended for a fortnight, manager Nigel Pearson said only: "I've got no comment to make."

The Hull local press is reporting that the suspension is due to an incident which took place on the club's pre-season trip to Slovenia. The club are expected to make a statement this morning.

When asked about the £45,000-a-week midfielder’s future earlier on Tuesday, Pearson said merely: “There's nothing to add at this point. This conversation is going nowhere so we'll leave it at that."

The one-time England call-up, who has two years left on his contract which makes up 21% of Hull's wage bill, has been linked with a switch to QPR in recent weeks, while the Blues may well be monitoring his situation despite manager Paul Jewell previously ruling them out due to the financial aspects of the move.

Perhaps Hull are trying to go down the progressive disciplinary route to get shot, if this were to happen Jimmy has to realise that he would NEVER get his current terms again and would have to accept what he is offered, at this point we should step in.

I'm sure I've read it a couple of times on articles on TWTD.............but it slips my mind..............what percentage of Bullard's salary makes up Hull wage bill??

Not interested in Bullard anymore, cracking player yes but, we can't break the bank for such a risk!! PJ is very shrewed in the transfer market and I'm sure there will be some good quality signings and loan ins within the comming weeks.

We keep talking about signing players, WHAT PLAYERS SHOULD WE BE LOOKING TO GET IN ON LOAN ??

Isnt this the second breach of club discipline?

Written warning time, perhaps the start of constructive dismissal by Hull??

Why do I keep getting the opportunity to read 'stories' on this site about Jimmy Bullard, a Hull City player? Please make them stop.

If there is a chance of getting Jimmy back do it as with him and Bowyer providing the balls for Chopra = Goals !!! I see Arsenal want to see Emanuel-Thomas I quite like him wortha go I think !!
Jimmy is a legend, true lad, great footballer and how anybody could not want him back here obviously did not watch him play for us last year. I think he has respect fo PJ and I hope he comes back.

Would love to have Jimmy here but only on our terms. Hull are playing the game here and would love the opportuntiy to sack him. Thet have made their bed and must now lay in it.

About a month ago. I spoke with jimmy in a pub in London. Funny enough, just round the corner from loftus road and he said that he was really after a last crack at the premiership and if it didn't come off he could only see himself playing for Ipswich in the championship.
Ps he didn't know I was a Ipswich fan.
I'v got a good feeling about this.

According to Hull forum Jimmy turned up for training in a taxi straight from a night out in London. If true a fine would have been reasonable disciplinary action but suspension seems over the top. Wonder what Hull motives are, can't see it ending amicably.

All the talk of us spending the Wickham money is just that, talk, there is no Wickham money, it has gone to Evans to cover what Keane wasted and the club is losing each season, and yes there are other decent players out there, the problem is that most of them don't want to come here, get used to it.

Churchmans - you don't half talk a load of old tosh!
ME is a business man, the money he has invested in the club so far was to get us in the Prem - that didn't work for all the reasons we know and understand with the benefit of hindsight. He is not going to use the same strategy again by 'gambling' a bunch of money on a risk like Bullard. He is a good player yes, but overpriced (in terms of wages) and unreliable (in terms of fitness).

You could have Messi in your squad, but if he's injured all season you might as well have Vlado Bosinoski!

My Money is on him seeing his contract out and why not, we all would,So Hull will have to make him a good settlement offer before any other club can sign him.

KesgraveBlue: More to the point, doesn't Hull's wage bill ever change? Bullard's wages seem to have made up 21% of it for quite some time now!

Commnets on here are stunning....like "he's a town legend"..."bring home PJ".....he played for us for 5mths...not exactly long enough to become a legend (the likes of Muhren and Gates ar Legends, not Bullard) or that this is home...

So what, not interested in Hull players.

Tiggs added 21:31 - Jul 21
No interest at all. There is no way we can have Jimmy in the same midfield as the 'thug' and the ex-Mackem. We would get ripped to shreds and would leave our inadequate centre-backs too exposed. People should be more worried about our defence than anythig else. We are at least two players and a good keeper short to have any chance at Championship level.

Jimmy is getting it all wrong

Nobody will pay more than 10,000 a month for him and he is trying to do nothing and take home his 40,000 from Hull.

Well. OK But he is clearly not interested in playing football.
He is damaged goods
