Bullard Situation Still Unresolved
Bullard Situation Still Unresolved
Monday, 1st Aug 2011 10:38

Former Blues loanee Jimmy Bullard’s situation at Hull City remains unresolved with the midfielder told to continue to stay away from Tigers training. The 32-year-old’s two-week suspension relating to an unspecified incident which took place during a training camp in Slovenia was due to end today.

An investigation into the alleged transgression is ongoing with manager Nigel Pearson anticipating further news in the next few days: "The club will make a statement when it's appropriate on how that will move forward but apart from that I've got nothing more to say. I would expect that this week."

Bullard appears certain to be on his way out of the KC Stadium as a result of the current dispute with the Tigers keen to rid themselves of the remaining two years of the former Wigan and Fulham man’s £45,000-a-week contract.

Earlier in the summer, Blues boss Paul Jewell played down the chances of last season’s Player of the Year returning to the club due to the financial side of doing a deal, although with QPR understood to have cooled in their interest there currently appears no obvious destination for the one-time England call-up.

Cause unrest? That's funny, he seemed to have the opposite effect while with us on loan, motivating the rest of the team and finally giving us fans something to cheer about.

I doubt that anyone on this board knows what's currently going on at Hull, but clearly they want/need to get shot of Jimmy because of his wages.

I know I'm only speculating but it could be that Hull are pannicking at not being able to offload Jimmy on to another club and are now looking at getting off their books through some other means.

I have complete trust in PJ's judgement over what sort of player's will be right for us, and doubt he would have ever contemplated signing Jimmy in the first place if he didn't have full confidence in him.

Bullard will probably not come back to us, but I for one would be over the moon if he did.

If Jimmy is sacked we haven't got a chance of getting him, he'll go to the prem.
Offer some loan deal now Jewell otherwise we'll miss our chance.

Imagine getting a quality player like him on a pay per play basis, it would certainly be a win win situation.

When are you guys going to get it straight about us and Bullard regarding money. There is no panic at this end about his salary. The owners have already written off the money and it plays no part in our budget. The fact of the matter is that he has been a very poor player for us in terms of cost. He is one hard challenge away from his career end and he is quite happy to sit on his salary with this "It's not about the money" rubbish, exactly that.
He doesn't give two hoots about Ipswich Town just like he doesn't about Hull City. All he cares about is playing footie and pocketing his £45k a week.
I don't know what he has done in Slovenia but you can bet your bottom dollar it will be disrespectful to the management in one form or another. As for sacking him, well that would be great for us but I would be surprised if we try and I would be amazed, if we did try, if it worked; there is virtually no judicial precedent for the lawyers to work with.
Even if it did succeed, I think your chances of getting him would be minimal. QPR would surely be first in the queue. They have already offered £25k a week loan which we have turned down because, again, we are not prepared to loan him out to anyone (and especially not a rival), on subsidised terms. If a Prem side offered £35k then I think we would deal, but there would be not buy back and no club will risk that.

I've never understood your hero worship of him, especially after his revealing comments about Norwich when they came sniffing. My advice would be to forget about him just as we are trying to do. He isn't hero material, clown maybe, but definitely not hero.

AmberAndBlack, interesting i went on to one of the Hull fan sites earlier and the vitreol for JB (and the previuos management) was astonishing. Given what he did for us in a couple of months I can't help but think that your team would have made a serious push for the playoffs had your manager kept him and had the man management skills to get the best out of him.

From an ITFC perspective I am really divided on this one. Cleary JB is out for No1, but then in all honesty who isn't. He is on a fantastic contract for his age and Hull clearly realise that they can't sell him and that nobody will come close to offering enough to be able to loan him out. Hull are obviously looking to cancel his contract to release them of the reported £45K/week obligation, not sure they will get away with this but good luck to them.

I think QPR are out of the picture as Tarabat is staying and they don't need JB.

Would love to see him back here as I think PJ will get the best out of him, but only at a sensible cost to ITFC.

Gut feel, it aint gonna happen.

Cant see him coming to us if he is sacked as it was said earlier a Prem side can pay more than we can in wages and Jimmy would love a crack at the prem again

It's a case of horses for courses. From Hull's perspective there is too much bad blood and it's quite evident that they are seeking to wriggle out of the contract. In our case, we need a creative midfilelder, Jimmy displayed what a positive impact he has on the team and supporters and he was able to come here with a clean slate. There also seems to be good chemistry between him and PJ.
I say that if we can get him at the right price (wages) then let's do it.

He was superb for us last season without a doubt played a big part in us steering clear of a relegation battle, but come you bullard supporters, he is hardly the total professional is he? He expects Hull to honour his 45k a week, only fair he should honour his side of the contract and turn up for training on time and in a fit state. There's looking after no1 and there's being out of order. I have nt forgotten his comments about us and norwich in the same sentence, even if some of you have? if he came here now its because no one else wanted him enough to take the risk. WE DONT NEED HIM ....COYB

Newsflash - reports coming out of Selhurts Park we've just mad a 550k bid for Ambrose!

Have to agree with my mate who's a Palace fan...that offer is a Joke! All for starting off low and going higher but Palace have a bit of cash and the board could only take over on the proviso they never sold Ambrose so offering that is a farce!
We'll need to triple that for them to consider.

Why didn't Hull want to play him last season, he clearly had a lot to offer as we saw when he played at PR.

There must be some underlying reason, which none of us know, why Hull did not play him but preferred to loan him to us.

Why pay someone a reported £45000 a week and not play him, Hull didn't appear to have anyone better?

''There must be some underlying reason''

according to reports his next appearance triggers a clause in his contract which gives him a payrise.......

I've said it all Summer - JB will be back!
Both he and Jewell have had to play it cool as we' need Hull to give him some form of golden handshake (£1m?), thus making him viable.
He loves Jewell and Jewell loves him. The adoration he received from us last year has a value and the prospect of 2 more years of hero worship, against the risk of repeating the Hull experience, has to be a deal clincher!
Hope I'm right because he's exactly what we need!
