![]() Thursday, 11th Aug 2011 09:41 Town boss Paul Jewell says he hopes to complete the signing of Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews on a six-month loan this morning. The Blues are waiting to receive paperwork from the Premier League club before the deal can be announced. Jewell said: “We’re just waiting for paperwork from Blackburn to come through. It’s been reported that it was done two days ago, it wasn’t, but hopefully it’s all done now. Hopefully, it will be done before 9.45 this morning so he can train with us.” The Town boss says he’s yet to hear whether the offer made for a defender — probably Liverpool’s Daniel Ayala — has been accepted: “We’ve got an offer in for a centre-half, that’s been in since Monday evening but like every player we go for there seem to be other clubs in for him. “We’re waiting to see whether the other club have accepted our offer and if we’ve got permission to speak to the player.” Jewell played down chief executive Simon Clegg’s comments regarding an offer being received for a player - believed to be a fringe member of the squad rather than a regular - with any interest from another club very much at a tentative stage: “If there’s a bid that we accept then people will know about it. There are always phone calls between managers and chief execs. We could go on all day about. “I don’t think we’ve got anything in writing. I think there are always conversations going to and fro and questions thrown at chief execs but I’m the type of person that unless there’s something to tell you that’s definite or is going to happen or has happened, there’s no point in me talking.”
