Bullard's Hull Contract Terminated Thursday, 18th Aug 2011 12:58
Hull City have announced the termination of former Town loanee Jimmy Bullard’s contract in the wake of his suspension for an alleged indiscretion which took place during the Tigers’ pre-season trip to Slovenia. The 32-year-old, the Blues’ Player of the Year during a hugely successful loan spell last season, has not played for the club he joined from Fulham for £5 million in 2009 this season.
Hull chief executive Mark Maguire said in a statement that Bullard’s £45,000-a-week contract, which had two years left to run and made up 21% of the Tigers’ wage bill, is to be terminated: “I can confirm that the club has given notice to terminate the contract of Jimmy Bullard.
“Mr Bullard has a right of appeal and it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time that might prejudice this process.
“The club will continue to focus on the development and performance of the squad going forward and is concentrated on efforts to deliver a positive season on and off the pitch for the Tigers.
“We respect that there will be significant interest in this matter but will continue to act with professionalism and at all times in the best interests of the club.”
It's understood the termination means Bullard will receive nothing of what remains on his contract, the move effectively constituting his sacking by the Tigers.
While the Blues were interested in signing the midfielder earlier in the summer, boss Paul Jewell has said on a number of occasions that the deal would be beyond Town's finances, although whether this would still be the case now that Bullard's situation has changed remains to be seen.
However, QPR are also understood to be strongly interested in signing the former Peterborough and Wigan man and would appear to be the favourites for his signature, unless the takeover which was announced earlier today has led to them look elsewhere for midfield additions.

AmberAndBlack Agreed, however, after the end of the 1 month notice. He is no longer registered with Hull and is technically unemployed and can presumably seek employment elsewhere? No transfer is required and would not be subject to the transfer window?

Anyone with a shred of football nouse who saw Jimmy Bullard play for Town last season will know how he stood out from the ordinary. His technical ability and reading of the game, the way he made himself available for the return ball across the width of the midfield and his ability in a dead ball situation, made him an obvious stand-out against any player we had last season or indeed have this season. He is also a crowd pleaser. The side needs either JB or someone of equal ability to run the game from midfield. I fully accept that we need 1 or indeed 2 central defenders and a right back.

All the argueing and bickering with AmberAndBlack and amongst ourselves will solve nothing and only lead to raised blood pressure,But i have a theory and it's this, If paul Jewell or Simon Clegg make a statement tomorrow saying sorry but its nit gonna happen then it's time to wish him all the best forget him ,say nothing and move on, on the other hand if they say nothing and dont mention the subject get cagey with answers ect ect then its happening but till we know lets take a deep breath and calm down. He may never play for us again and thank you Jimmy for what you did for us then again he might line up fir us against peterborough on saturday.I wonder if this was keeping things quiet yesterday?

No chance of signing Bullard. Looking forward to seeing if PJ can eventually start signing some decent players - preferrably not aging has beens who are injury prone.

I would imagine Bullard as a jack the lad joker in the dressing room type. It's been said all pre season Bullard would be a great signing but lets face Evans is to tight.

He's 32 and probably got one maybe two years left when he could play in the Premiership. I'm surprised , the sort of bloke he seems to be , that he doesn't take a pay cut and go. Also Hull paid his wages all the time he was out injured it all seems a bit of a waste.
