Anyone listening to his thoughts in this BBC interview will get the measure fo the lad. A cracking professional and a nice touch about being proud that an Ipswich player being on the England team sheet again.

Crock - I disagree to an extent, watching Utd this season and how good Smalling, jones,Cleverley and young not to mention Rooney have been fills me with optimism, it will take a bit of time but there is lots of raw talent there, they need patience and persiverence and hopefully now it will be the end for some of the underachieving old gaurd. I think Andy Carroll will be huge, I thought the good old fashioned English centre forward was extinct but he is immense and downing looks a different player at the mo. I was concerned where the new crop were coming from but thankfully under the wing of Sir Alex and King Kenny I think these boys will be turned into men.

With Stockdale's commitment and attitude, I for one would love him to sign on a permanant basis.

I think hes been excellent and deserves it, alright he's not officially our player but he's a good keeper with a big future in my opinion.
