![]() Saturday, 19th Nov 2011 08:09 Blues boss Paul Jewell has revealed that Nottingham Forest midfielder Guy Moussi’s proposed switch to Town broke down due to the 26-year-old Frenchman’s sister or mum persuading him not to move to Suffolk. Holding midfielder Moussi was out of contract in the summer and was close to joining the Blues before signing a new deal at the City Ground. Jewell said: “We tried to get Moussi but his sister or his mum didn’t want him to move to Ipswich, so he didn’t come. “I forget which one it was, I think it was his sister or both of them. That’s what his agent told me. I didn’t get to speak to the player, I spoke to the agent or Simon Clegg did. “He was supposed to be at Portman Road but the agent said his sister talked him out of moving all the way from Nottingham to Ipswich. I just shook my head and moved on. Perhaps it was the agent just spinning a yarn!” The Blues boss also tried to sign veteran Dutch international George Boateng but again Town lost out to the Midlanders: “We had George Boateng here on trial but obviously Steve McClaren knew him from their Middlesbrough days and Steve took him over to Forest.”
