Swedish Youngster Training With Town
Swedish Youngster Training With Town
Tuesday, 22nd Nov 2011 13:31

Town’s academy are running the rule over 16-year-old Swedish youngster Isak Nylén, who currently plays for IF Brommapojkarna in his homeland. The 6ft 7in tall striker, already being referred to as the 'Swedish Peter Crouch', is currently training with the Blues’ youth set-up and scored in a friendly against a West Ham academy side on Monday.

Nylén is believed to be a target of a number of Premier League sides and appears likely to be leaving his present club in January.

Meanwhile, former Blue RIchard Wright says he's unlikely to be offered a return to Portman Road despite having been training with the Blues for much of the time since leaving Sheffield United in the summer: “I love Ipswich Town Football Club, I don’t hide that. I think everyone knows that, but at the moment there’s nothing there for me."

Previously, manager Paul Jewell has said he's looking for a younger keeper to come in as the club's long-term number one.

If we could get a couple more like him, we could knock the football on the head, and reform as a basketball club!!!!

I know what jewell is up to, where ever he gets tripped up on the pitch, he could fall into their penalty area!

Must be a nut case to come here - unless he is the spare goal post.

If he is any good he wont come here unless he only wants to play for a couple of years no place for anyone under 18 with any ambition

Goodness sake, surely trying to sign a 16 year old is showing ambition for the future, 1P3? How do you know he's not pacey? Did you see him play? I'm probably the only Ipswich fan feeling positive at the moment but it looks like Jewell is looking to get some youngsters in.

Ipswich is very much the place to come if you want to prove yourself as a young player. Facilities, manager, investment....it's perfect.

Fourth your comment is wrong iv seen how many pro's we have signed on its to many there is not enough under 18s playing reserve football at our club do your self a favour and have a look at other clubs reserve and academies. This used to be us until Jewell has taken over, not that I blame him he obv has 1 task get us up so is he going to give a toss about youngsters obv not just a shame we are doing crap makes a mockery of it all. I personally think unless he gets promotion or at least challenges it will be a case of taaa daaa

Tell Isak to wait for another 16 years and then re-apply...

Hes worth a try, no1 has seen him play so you cant really comment on it, we're never gonna get another brilliant youth player unless we keep bring the youngters in! COYB
