Crawley Town manager Steve Evans has revealed that the Blues have rejected an offer for midfielder Andy Drury. The 28-year-old returned from an unbeaten 93-day loan with the League Two leaders at the start of the week.

The clubs were due to speak about Drury joining the Red Devils on a permanent basis earlier in the week but Evans says their “significant” bid was rebuffed: "As far as I am concerned that will be the end of the matter unless Ipswich have a change of mind.

“The player has been superb for us and very importantly wants to be here. Let us hope things can be sorted out and Andy's real Christmas wish comes true."

Drury, Paul Jewell’s first permanent Portman Road signing, joined Town from Luton a year ago for £150,000.

peteswindon added 20:18 - Dec 27 I am fed up with all the moaning and groaning on here, lets have some facts here! how many minuets has this lad had since being at town? it was a big step up for the lad and he was seen as one for the future. Secondly I know we are all disappointed in how this year has gone, but we are only 9 points from the play offs with a game in hand. So lets not lose the faith just yet, and get behind the team in any way we can.
