Wallace Joining Huddersfield Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 14:41
Town appear to have missed out on signing Falkirk youngster Murray Wallace with the Scottish League Division One club announcing that they expect him to join League One Huddersfield later today. The Blues, Brighton and the Terriers had all agreed a £300,000 plus add-ons fee for the 19-year-old.
Wallace is currently at Huddersfield where he is undergoing a medical, having been at Town yesterday and Brighton last week. The Terriers are understood to have offered both the player and the club a better financial package than both the Blues and the Seagulls with the fee reportedly potentially rising to £700,000.
Falkirk boss Steven Pressley said: “The deal has almost been concluded but there are one or two bits and pieces to finalise.
“Murray has been fantastic for us but it is not the parting of the ways as the deal means he will remain at Falkirk till the end of the season.
"It is an excellent bit of business by the club for, with add-ons, it could mount up to quite a substantial figure over time.
“Obviously we will miss him when he eventually goes as he is a terrific young player. However, this is part of our long-term Academy strategy and we are comfortable with the move.”

Why is it Cleggs fault. Some of the comments are beyond belief. All he can do is offer the contract and the wages. If someone offers more money and lets be honest all these players want is money because they are pure greed how on earth is it Cleggs fault. Same with the 3 from Portsmouth. They have a valuation so why on earth should the club pay over the odds just because the owner is very wealthy Sorry but the current squad have got us in this mess and it is them who should get us out. Time for Chopra to repay the £250,000 the club lent him and show the early season form and start banging in the goals

Can't say I am concerned at not getting this player did little to impress me on Sunday. No pace and very casual. Perhaps he knows his level or is that Huddersfield are now more attactive than us at present ?

Great, saying that i can understand why he would rather sign for Huddersfield with Lee Clarke as the gaffer than ITFC with Paul Jewell at the helm - speaks volumns doesn't it that we can't attract a 19yr old, i'll be very suprised if we sign anyone today as the players can see for themselves the mess we're in - lets hope i'm wrong!

Trouble is how can any of us not be negative at what's happening. We were told last week that we'd lodged bids for five players, so far we've got a £50,000 midfielder who will hopefully turn out to be another Drury, but could be the next O'Callaghan or Healy. Phil keeps telling us it's unlikely that we'll see any of the Portsmouth trio and this lad picks a league one side who could and probably will lose Rhodes and even with him are not looking an absolute bet for promotion and even less likely if they do lose Rhodes. With our dismal record this season and lack of progress in the transfer market, can anyone please tell me where there are any positives at the moment?

Quelle Suprise! Floridaboy - It's Clegg's fault because he has to sell the club to the potential players joining. It can't just be money. this is proven in the business world eg. Everyone knows that Asda are the cheapest supermarket yet there are a plethera of thriving alternatives.......oh I can't be bothered!

Nevermind. Haven't we got another 4 'irons in the fire'? So we have.

Paulc, Aldi are cheaper! Let's talk supermarkets, seems much more interesting than our transfer policy at the moment!!!

Really starting to panic now, i really can't see us being any better this season without signing at least two defenders. Put the 300k towards the pompey lads surely they'd have to take the money!

Not too bothered about this one and there's still 8 hours to go so i hope the management team have got good news in the pipeline! If we end this window without at least one decent centre back and a right back someone has to take responsibility for leaving us with the worst defence in the football league and not doing anything to rectify it. Anyway lets hope the team can put in a great performance tonight.COYB.

I find it sad that a lot of people think the situation at our club is funny,1 find myself not wanting to go and watch my team anymore because the football is rubbish, the club is going backwards, i like to be entertained and enjoy the experience instead its like pulling teeth, hope we win tonite but i won't going i've had enough!

If we cannot sell ourselves better than Huddersfield we are most certainly screwed !!! If Clegg cannot out bid /negiotate better than Huddersfield he cannot have any interest in the club or is a totally useless salesman/represetative of our club. Time is up or it is in 6 and a bit hours , floridaboy i hope your faith is well founded or you know Clegg well , Legend i am starting to think like you time for action to save our club.

Dannysigma....so can you define a real supporter for us then please?
RegencyBlue added 15:35 - Jan 31
No disrespect to Huddersfield but if we cannot sell ITFC over them then the destruction of our once proud club is complete! Thanks a lot Clegg.

Nitro, a real supporter is someone who doesn't moan, supports the team and the manager all the way without any negativety! Bullpoop!!!! A real supporter is one with ambition, one who wants to succeed and one who gets frustrated when things go wrong, one who calls for changes when we can't win, one who doens't understand why we can't get the players in, one who is totally fed up with the current nonsense!! But you wouldn't think it would you, to some if you voice your concerns you're not a real supporter!

No great loss this one as we need players to come into the team straight away not in 6 months. Is he any better than Jack Ainsley really!

Bury blue, thanks for clearing that one up for me i was really beginning to wonder if the questioning of the running of our proud club, or commenting on the frankly shambolic management was somehow seen as being a part time supporter or a nodge fan in disguise! I myself have been with town for 35 years since i was six and have put my hand in my pocket for a season ticket for a long long time........does that count for anything?

Nitro, I just don't understand it, some on here would be happy if we ended up sliding down the leagues far enough so that our local derby was with Bury Town. I've never known anything like this, in almost 25 years supporting Town, even under Duncan when it was bad at least we had mid table mediocrity to look forward to, and going into administration after Sheepshanks spent all the money on the stadium, Matteo Sereni and Finidi George, Royle still managed to produce a promotion chasing side for 3 years and whilst Evans may have been our saviuor financially, (we could have gone down the pan without him) we've gone backwards since his arrival, not forward! So whay can't we moan????
Crazee added 18:13 - Jan 31
Well that sums it all up for this joke of a club, when youngsters playing for second rate Scottish teams choose a League 1 club over Ipswich Town. Poor old Sir Alf and Sir Bob are veritably spinning in their graves now!
