Leeds Linked With Chambers
Leeds Linked With Chambers
Sunday, 1st Jul 2012 09:38

Leeds United are interested in Town target Luke Chambers, according to reports in Yorkshire. The Nottingham Forest centre-half, whose contract at the City Ground expired at midnight last night, has been tipped for a Bosman free move to Portman Road this week.

Despite adding January Town target Jason Pearce from Portsmouth early in the close season, the Whites are short on central defenders with former Blue Alex Bruce having been released and ex-Town loanee Darren O’Dea leaving at the end of the season.

A takeover is close to completion at Elland Road which would give manager Neil Warnock the funds to further add to his squad.

We understand Chambers is one of Paul Jewell’s top targets this summer with reports from the Midlands late last week claiming the 26-year-old former Northampton man could sign on the dotted line as soon as Tuesday, in time for the start of pre-season training on Thursday.

Get his signature NOW - lack of transfer action points to yet another mediocre season.

How do you know who's on PJ's short list, why not just wait until players have actually signed on the dotted line, before linking players, nothing official has been announced regarding any of towns targets, maybe that's how the club want to conduct there transfer business...just a thought!

before ne1 starts panicing about this latest story just remember, its a link that leeds are in for him. just as it was a link that we were in for the luton youngster, which turned out to be no more than that. for that matter its only a link that we in for chambers too. no1 at itfc has confirmed this supposed interest. so lets just wait & see what happens.

If Warnock dies pull this deal off, well done to him because Chambers and Pearce together is a formidable partnership!

Has anyone actually seen much of this Luke Chambers. I have just spoken to a Forest fan with a coaching backgrounnd who says they will be glad to see the back of him. Apparently he wins headers and the odd tackle but apparently milk turns quicker and, when on the ball, he always launches it up field rather play a pass. Sounds like a right footed version of Delaneny. There has got to be something better out there.

huddy, how u work the 1 out? its a link, not a fact that leeds interested. also has to be said that until the takeover at leeds has actually been finalised, they cant sign ne1 else as they not able to afford to, so unless it goes thru in next few days their hands are tied. plus again, its only a link that we are even trying to sign him. so, no, its not too late to panic, either about this potential signing, or ne others. the time to panic will be if weve signed no1 with only a couple of weeks to go before the start of the season

According to some friends who are Leeds Utd season ticket holders (for forty plus years), Leeds have no cash until the takeover goes through.

If Chambes is signing for a club next week then i doubt it will be Leeds.

Funny how all the club linked with players are Leeds, Palace, Bristol City, Burnley, Peterbourough and West Brom - really is poor journalism.

This site is now great comedy value. I just read it to see how many people Phil can wind up in a day. Carry on Phil - you are doing a great job!!.

Oops, sorry Phil!
My comment had to be deleted!
Must control the anger, ok let's put it another way, let's hope we can get in there and get the deal done before Leeds do.

Oh dear - can see Warnock doing another "Shaun Derry" to us...

...only this time Chambers won't even get as far as the office to leave without signing - because Captain Clegg won't be there himself as he'll be too busy sorting out hotel bookings for Guam's finest athletes...
