Update - Kourouma Signs Contract But is Still Waiting For Completion Friday, 31st Aug 2012 23:25 French midfielder Cheick Kourouma has confirmed that he has finally cut through the swathes of red tape and has signed his one-year contract with the Blues. However, with less than an hour to go before the deadline he was still waiting for the completion of paperwork relating to his move.
The 20-year-old tweeted (but has subsequently removed) in French, "J'ai signé", hopefully ending a frustrating two months in which he has been unable to complete his move to the Blues. Just less than an hour before the deadline he added that he is "still waiting".
The club were in the process of completing the remaining paperwork on the deal and confirmation one way or another may come tomorrow.
Town needed to secure agreements from all the clubs he has played for since the age of 12 that they wouldn't chase compensation technically due to them under FIFA rules. Failing to do so could potentially have cost the Blues €100,000.

Welcome to Ipswich..... I'm so completely cheesed off today, unless something amazing happens in the next 4 hours. However.... I still think we'll beat Huddersfield (although, I thought that about Carlisle) Fingers crossed for a P.J suprised COYB!

Bienvenue Cheick. However seriously concerned that we have no more news on any further signings especially in the 'lets stop the opposition scoring goals' department.

As I keep saying Talbs one step forwards one step backwards - so we go nowhere, if we pick up some injuries in the defense which is already happening by the looks (Edwards) not sure what state Chambers is in after Tuesday and we have poor cover the finger will be pointing at one man, well 3 to be honest, maybe more....

How you doing TimmyH? Good hearing from you mate. I couldnt agree more it leaves woefully vulnerable. I just cant get my head round the management (and I use the term for all 3) not making centre backs (at least 2) wernt an absolute must for the squad. We are now massively undercooked at the back, I would say we arent too bad elsewhere in the squad although could of done with a few more. Now I never usually criticise pj but if a decent cb doesnt come in tonite, then its hard not to although perhaps he has had his hands tied by the chairman and clegg. Either way I cant see us being any more higher up the league this season and I am so so dissapointed we are again relying on loans when pj said he wasnt going to take that direction as it just doesnt help the team progress.

Talbs77 - I'm with you buddy. I was expecting/hoping a centre back would be announced tonight as I can't believe Delaney has been allowed to leave without a replacement...but maybe the lights are out in the offices at PR and they have taken advantage of the 'earlybird' offer at the Fayre & Square pub, instead.

Fine Talbs fine! let's hope we get a result tomorrow although not sure how the defense is looking, I reckon it will be 2-2 and not sure if our new 'signings' will be starting. Yeah totally agree, incompetence is the correct word if we get no back up, we have Jack Ainsley and I'm afraid we're very scared to use him after some of his appearances last season which must of hit his confidence, but who else? In fact I'd say the whole back line is looking shaky for cover,we have to wait until Hewitt becomes fit for right back and he is inexperienced at this level and then we're relying on our 'youngans'. Not sure what's happening with Lee Martin's contract - gone very quiet. Today has been disappointing and thought somehow we might get either St Leger (long shot) or Bramble (shorter shot) on loan but absolutely dead as a dodo. As you say mate, this again looks to be our achilles heel, Chambers has come in and Delaney out and that's it and Loach will only be as good as his defense in front of him (judging) by what we've seen so far. I've already taken a punt where we'll get in the league and if PJ see's the whole term out - I'd guess at 12th. Really not good enough.

Your so right LangdonBlue, what the hell were the club thinking of by letting Delaney go before getting a PERMANENT replacement in??!! Which other clubs do that?? You dont let them go until you have got replacements in. So frustrating. Also, WHY do all our players just walk away for nothing?? We couldnt have got at least a few bob for a player Palace were willing to fork out £100K or whatever it was January, its just crap business!! Stephenson WTF??!! Sign him from hearts for what, £100K or somthing wasnt it as he was on strike, he is so unhappy here he goes back to place he was desperate to get away from in the 1st place, what the hell is that all about??!!! The worrying thing is this isnt stuff that is just happening this season, its been like this for at least 3 years now which numerous managers (although Keane was undoubtadly crap) and just seems to happen every season.

TimmyH when you put it like that its scary how short at the back we are!! I was going to back Huddersfield in my accumulator tommorow (ok its bad I know but back Watford and town came through....although also backed Blackpool so thats a little superstition thats complete knobcheese) but as they have now lost Rhodes (dont get me started on him!!) I'm not so sure, 2-2 is not a bad punt though TimmyH. After such a promising start to the season, that deflated feeling is beginning to come over me again.
