U21s at Brentford
Tuesday, 30th Oct 2012 10:37

Town are sending a strong U21 squad to Brentford’s Griffin Park this afternoon for a Professional Development League Two South game against the Bees (KO 3pm).

Bilel Mohsno, Arran Lee-Barrett, Jack Ainsley, Massimo Luongo and Nathan Ellington are all included, while midfielder Cormac Burke plays his first game in five weeks due to injury.

Summer signing Elliott Hewitt is also in the squad, his comeback from his hip operations having been put back by a recent bout of tonsillitis.

U21s: Lee-Barrett, Marsden, Ainsley, Hammond, Hewitt, October, Whight, Mohsni, Berkane, Burke, Clarke, Lawrence, Luongo, Timlin, Ellington, Marriott, Winter.

Im just wondering why and what is the point in under 21s if older players are selected. I also believe that those not in the first team should play a match each week in the community ,ie suffolk and essex. It would do wonders for some of these players to lose a boot in a muddy puddle on a cold night in Clacton. It would also help build bridges between Ipswich players and the community as a whole.

I hope big Mick is going down to watch them. He will need to know who to bring in when he kicks out all the "non-tryers from the first team.

bluefeast - otherwise squads would have to be very small as fringe players wouldn't get any match practice at all!
