Town Announce Burnley Ticket Offer
Thursday, 8th Nov 2012 18:26

Fans who buy a match ticket for Mick McCarthy’s first home game in charge against Burnley on Saturday will be able to watch the Blues take on either Millwall or Bristol City in December for £10.

Tickets are available in all areas of the ground, except premium areas, and can be bought from the main ticket office, in person or over the phone, in Planet Blue or online.

The promotional price tickets for the Millwall game on Saturday 8th December or the Bristol City match on Saturday 22nd December don’t need to be purchased at the same time as tickets for the Burnley game and will be available up to the day of those fixtures.

The ticket office number is 0844 80 11 555, while more details can be found on the club website here.

Tickets purchased at cash turnstiles will not be valid for this offer but it is open to supporters who have already bought tickets for Saturday's game.

This is a very positive mood from the club. It's nice to see they realise how important it is for there to be as many fans as possible behind MM and the team on Saturday!

Another fantastic deal for the loyal season ticket holders.

Season ticket holders get a decent deal anyway.

Garv - explain more? Commiting and paying for every game regardless of whether you can make it, deserves recognition. I find deals for 'casual' fans quite offensive ... perhaps next year I'll give up my season ticket, choosing my games when there is a deal on ... I will save a fortune! I hope everyone does the same - but I suspect the club will go bankrupt!

I'm not surprised by your comments though, as I suspect you still feel annoyed that PJ was sacked. After all we are not in a complete mess are we ....

Well done Ipswich...lets hope the performance on the pitch in front of (hopefully) an inflated crowd is as positive!

Jas, a st in sbrl or sarl (cheapest) is on average £17 a game, this offer will mean the average for the 2 games will be at cheapest £15 for the 2 games (this is assuming the burnley games is a cat c, which I doubt) so for the sake of getting the cheapest deal for 2 games you are willing to forfeit having the cheapest ticket for the other 21 games?

Stop moaning about everything the club does ffs!

Comments above, typical season ticket holder mentality. We're season ticket holders and f**k everyone else

Wonder what deals there'll be next season for attractive home fixtures vs Oldham and Bury

Seriously, don't some of you get the idea that if the club see that lower prices means more fans/better atmosphere etc that this might influence their thinking when considering season ticket prices in the future? Duh

More fans in the ground = Less empty seats = Better atmosphere. End of.

The season ticket holders complaining are the same ones that you won't notice are even there on the match day - unless they're eating their prawn sandwiches too loudly of course!

if you are a little canny here, could you buy one of the cheapest tickets for Burnley (in the Lower Sir Bobby or Sir Alf), and then get your £10 ticket in Britannia Middle, or the upper Sir Alf/Sir Bobby or anywhere that would usually be more expensive?

The usual, predictable "us and them" attitude from some of the season ticket holders. If you think you are getting such a rough deal then go and buy matchday tickets for every home game. You'll quickly realise you are much worse off, even with the odd ticket promotion. Stop moaning.

Excellent, bye bye season ticket 2013/2014. Paying £22 for each game when I could get in for a tenner several times a season? Lesson Learnt, thanks for bringing this to my attention........

As a season ticket holder, I do not object to these kind of promotions, -anything to help the atmosphere, which has been dire for months, but yes there should be something for season ticket holders as well. How about letting us have our own seat for cup games as some other clubs do. -Would probably only be one extra game anyway!

Warkthisway....great idea, have been thinking the same myself, something in it for everyone then.
It does depend on one thing though....we need to be lucky and get home tie in the draw..!

Seeing that we are only filling half the ground, why not sell tickets at half price to fill it. Its a no lose situation, the club still gets the same ticket revenue, more fans to buy stuff in the shop and bars and to make more noise. I remember the days of a single tier north stand out singing everyone. Now the stand is twice as big but most of the time all the noise comes from the away section. Bring back the noise.

I'm a season ticket holder - what other people pay is of no concern of mine. I chose to pay for a season ticket knowing that there would be a chance that some people would get good deals sometime during the season. Good luck to them - they may not be in as fortunate financial position as me. I would simply like the stadium to be fuller with more atmosphere and if that happens because half the people paid half the price I don't really care. I just want the team to be well supported and hope that some of this transfers to the players

Jimmy jazz you're seriously suggestig that charging a tenner will increase the crowd and result in season ticket price reduction? Duh. League position/quality/locality of opposition boosts crowd, people will attend regardless of price. Season ticket holders keep the club alive, even paying for a new season before the old seasons ended ! Prices don't reduce, fact. I'm all for these offers and attracting new supporters. If its the attendance you want to increase why not let a season ticket holder bring a friend for a tenner, I would suggest that increases attendance more and helps appease season ticket holders. Up the town !!

Cornbeefutd, bigger crowd - yes. Lower season ticket prices - "this might influence their thinking when considering season ticket prices". There were no guarantees given in my post.

What if match day prices were to be raised for a month, or a suitable period that covered games of different categories? During this month the Town do well and because of this home fan attendance increases despite the higher prices. It's then time to think about season ticket prices for the next season and it's decided that as the experimental month went well ST prices may as well be raised as it didn't affect crowd attendance. It works both ways.

At the end of the day, if Town are looking at creative ways to reduce prices the ultimately everyone gains.

Bigger crowd, better atmos. More pies, pints and merchandise sold.

Win win for everyone, its a big ground so lets try and fill it and get behind Big Mick and the boys...COYB

Some people can afford a season ticket, some can't. Jas, don't call me a casual fan you dumb fuc~~~g chump. Some of us have lives and women and children and stuff. Ive been to nearly every home game for 30 years. Now ive got two kids so I have to be more careful. You do desearve recognition; mainly for the painfully daft sh't you post on here. You clever boy.x

NSL added 22:42 - Nov 8
Why do they have to think of 'creative' ways to reduce prices? Why can't they just reduce the prices for this Saturday full stop as it's McCarthy's first game in charge. It's just half arsed. But then again, you can tell Ipswich folk anything it seems.
