Wednesday, 5th Dec 2012 15:26

Adult tickets for Town’s FA Cup third round tie at Aston Villa on Saturday 5th January (KO 3pm) have been set at £20, while U16s seats will cost £5.

Tickets go on sale to Gold Club members on Monday 10th December, to season ticket holders on Thursday 13th December and Silver Club members on Monday 17th December, before going on general sale on Tuesday 18th December.

Senior citizens and other concessions are being classed as adults for the fixture. Tickets will be restricted to one per customer until they go on general sale. The Blues have taken an initial allocation of 2,900.

In order to buy tickets, contact the ticket office on 0844 80 11 555 or visit Planet Blue in Portman Road.

Ok how many seats have we been allocated?? As with a low price of £20 they should be snapped up.

One ticket per customer? Fair enough I get angered when gold members can buy unlimited tickets in the past because it meant I missed out on going to Stamford Bridge twice in the FA Cup however I can only go if I can get a ticket for my friend who isn't a ST holder so now basically I have to either buy mine and gamble on my friend being able to get one or leave it till general sale and hope :/ Surely we should be able to buy 2 tickets? What if a father wanted to take his son? A mother wanted to take her daughter?

@tearle1974 2,900 as the article states!

why people coment on the articles without reading them first baffles me

@Big_Foot_Blue if the father/mother Son/Daughter are all/both ST holders or gold club members they can all get a ticket each.

This is the fairest system that could be put in place. I am not a ST holder or club member, so I am fully prepared to wait my turn as should ALL non ST or club members

I agree its probably the fairest way Paulc but having missed out in the past even as a ST holder it just annoys me when I will probably miss out again when I can only go if my mate goes and he doesnt have one.... nothing anyone can do just airing a grievance

Reasonable prices to be fair. Lets make it a day to remember. Hopefully we sell out our allocation and they give us some more

As I understand it, we are entitled to 15% of the capacity of Villa park, which would be 6,400 tickets. Therefore if we sell our initial allocation we should be able to get a further 3,500, so relax Big_Foot_Blue!

Cheers Fatboy but remember we took 10 thousand to Arsenal on a wednesday night a couple of years back and we have nearly double the 6,400 in season ticket holders alone if the majority want to go ;)

Big fat blue.. Gold card holders have never had unlimited tickets.. U used to b able to get to tickets if u had a gold and st.. I'm both but when I get mine I Monday I won't b able to get one on my st.. That's fair. U will prob b ok and we will most likely get more tickets!!

Thats really reasonable in these tough times and just after Xmas, for once it seems fans are being looked after.

I'll certainly been trying to get a ticket as never been to Villa Park.

Hmmm it's one of those fixtures I don't really fancy. I will wait for the replay and then go to Carrow Road in the next round! 👊

so, 20 quid for a cup tie in a decent stadium v premiership opponents .. how much to see the likes of barnsley & peterbgh in the championship game at PR?

singingtheblues: I couldn't agree more! The prices at PR are a rip-off. Will the ME empire throw a penny in my begging bowl when I am sitting in the street outside the ground in a few years, having bankrupted myself through travel and exorbitant ticket rates? I think not!

im fairly sure a lot of tickets are category C at the moment. I'm pretty sure Forrest last week was 20 sheets as is Milwall on Saturday. There was a promotion at Burnley too which meant you could get in to the following game for a tenner. I think an effort is being made to bring people back.

Villa are only charging 20 notes because they probably know Ipswich will travel in numbers.

Fairly priced tickets + good allocation+premier league opposition+possible cup upset = jolly good day out.

I think all the tickets will go quickly - and the extra tickets will be made available too, as long as the team continues the current vein of form, people will want to go. If it's a close game, hope we get better luck with ref decisions than the last big close away FA Cup game at Watford (5th round, six seasons ago) - where we had 5,000 supporters.

theres no need to worry, they will make general sale. I'm pretty sure of it.

so £20 for villa away (Prem team) but £34 for Leeds away? wtf?

runningout added 23:03 - Dec 6
definetely low initial allocation of tickets.. we will require at least double that.. Come on those responsible, Get real!!

So we are back to the situation whereby the regular away support loses out to the season ticket holder who only ventures out of Ipswich for a 'plum'FA Cup tie.I thought ITFC had learned the lesson on this one.

The FA Cup is always a poor second to our League position. Looking at Mick McCarthy's comment on being drawn away to Villa, I remembered we will have to put an unfamiliar team out, as most loanees don't get to play for their loan club in the FA Cup (apart from when we loaned Andy Drury to Crawley, he played well for them, then got games for us, and couldn't play for us against Hull at KC in FAC 3 last season) - so it's a day out, and a chance to see those players, nothing more. I guess Darren Bent will play for Villa, JET and Chops for us.
