Redknapp Pleased to See Campbell Return Monday, 7th Jan 2013 09:54 QPR boss Harry Redknapp was pleased to welcome DJ Campbell back into the Loftus Road fold as the striker played the full 90 minutes in their 1-1 FA Cup draw at home to West Brom on Saturday. Blues boss Mick McCarthy confirmed that he is continuing his pursuit of the 31-year-old despite adding David McGoldrick and Aaron Mclean to his squad last week. Redknapp says there has been plenty of interest in the frontman, who scored 10 goals in 17 games during three months on loan with Town: "I've had seven or eight clubs in for DJ Campbell from the Championship. "He gives everything. I like him a lot as a lad. He has got a good attitude. He will be handy for us. I wish I had had him here a month ago." Crystal Palace, who are managed by Campbell’s old Blackpool boss Ian Holloway, were again linked over the weekend, while Bolton were previously mentioned as a possible interested party. McCarthy said that for Town — and presumably the other interested clubs — it will be a case of waiting and seeing what QPR want to do: “He might go back and they might want to keep him. “I think they want to discuss that first, let’s get that out of the way - do they want to keep him, do they want to play him, do they want him in the squad? Then, if they don’t, then we can speak to them about him.”
