Nouble to Miss Bolton Clash Thursday, 14th Mar 2013 13:09 Town will be without striker Frank Nouble for Saturday’s home clash with in-form Bolton after he picked up a hamstring injury in training.
Nouble, 21, made his first senior start for the club in last week’s goalless draw at Peterborough, when he came closest to breaking the deadlock with a shot that struck a post.
He has also made eight substitute appearances since boss Mick McCarthy signed him from Wolves in January on an 18-month deal.
Nouble, who started out at Chelsea and also includes West Ham among his former clubs, said: “It is really disappointing to be ruled out.
“It’s a tweak and the physio has said the only cure is rest. I could take a chance and play against Bolton but it could get worse and I would end up missing even more games.
“It was felt that the best thing was to miss Saturday, have a good rest over the international break and then be back in contention for the game against Leeds.”
Lee Martin will serve the second game of his three-match ban against the Trotters, but Richard Stearman will be back after his one-game suspension.

Looked good on his debut. Brings more to the team than McLean (who is likely to be his replacement...)

Shame, he deserved to start this game alongside McGoldrick off the back of the Peterborough game.

Big shame as him and Hewitt were easily our best players last week. I'd think Murphy will probably come back into the side rather than McLean.

Hopefully murphy starts he deserves to, as for McLean he doesn't even deserve the bench

Chopra and McGoldrick then. Not a big deal.

Thought he looked great against boro and was looking forward to him playing Bolton. Hopefully Murph will step up and bang them in. Need our luck to change with injuries though ...

Or Murphy and Chopra while we play long ball. McGoldrick second half when we start to play football.

Bit of a Shefki, either row Z or breaks the back of the net... let us hope he can score as many as Shefki and be as popular here. Certainly the pace, strength and work rate are all evident.

Presumably Chops is fit again?

Noooooouble !! The lad has a big future with Town. I feel sure we will be seeing an emerging talent over the coming months and next season.

Great pity. I hope we have him back soon as others have already mentioned he played very well at Peterborough. We really have had bad luck with three of our newer players i.e. Taylor , Woody and Frank who have all showed promise. If we can have all three fit for next season, the garden is rosy.

For me, Stearman is doing a great job at RB for now and should probably start but i'm looking forward to Hewitt growing into the team and bossing that position over the years to come. Fantastic that a solid spine seems to be developing for once, which may be with us for more than 1 season!

Why does Mclean not deserve the bench ChrisMakin2012 I struggle to see what he has done wrong during his time here? Works incredibly hard and he can't score if we aren't creating chances, same with all of our current strikers, they all work hard off the ball, it's good to see.
